Just thought I'd put my 2 cents in about a FF team I would love to see.

Killer Clowns.

I honestly don't know how much popular appeal they would have, so hence if you could make money off them, but I would love to see an entire team of clowns resembling something out of Stephen King's IT.

I keep thinking of the catchers/runners being modeled as clowns hunched over on those teensy bikes Or the blitzers hiding a massive wooden sledgehammer behind their backs

Maybe I'm just twisted, and you should all go about your business, nothing to see here, move along, move along.

What about scarecrows?

Actually I was sitting on the...ahem...sitting in my reading chair flipping over my Monster Manual think about races for Elfball that haven't been used by that other company and I had a few thoughts.

Driders- or just someting similar. Half human (or elf) and half spider. These guys could have awesome catching abilities, and maybe leaping or something too.

Snakemen- Very fast and maybe with great striking ability but not much else.

Centaurs- I think there's something like this coming up, or at least there was the last time the grapevine tangled around my way. But I would also like to see a just plain Centaur team. Or maybe Centaur big guys?

Changeling- This could be really fun. They could be a team of Changelings who "level up" in generic ways. Then they can assume the abilities of their opponents. For example they wouldn't get a specific skill but rather a skill slot. So for example, a team of changelings plays a team of Deadlings. Each changeling assumes the form of one person from the other team. He gains all of that Deadling's abilities that he has available slots for, with all the of 'basic and advanced' requirements etc.

Mudmen- Easiest miniatures to paint ever! But also just cool and would be hilarious in football gear.

Gargoyles- They would just have to be good at a running game!

Nymphs- would be a lot of fun to paint too!

Beast Men- This should be done asap. Real beastmen like Grandma Wendy used to do. All kinds of beast things. Cats, dogs, flies, horses, etc. I'd be interested in these for RPG games too.

Clockwork Automatons- This could be real fun team. A couple techie-wizard dudes and a bunch of little clockers running around.

Anthropomorphic Insects- This would be cool as shizz! I would want to own a bee or ant team. A queen and a bunch of drones. Or they could be H.R. Giger-esque.

Elementals- See mudmen.

Now there's also the idea of demons. I think impact would be smart to hop on some demonic looking football minis. It's something people have wanted in Bludd Bowel for years but could never get a good team for.
Give them devil minis as proxies for the Chaos teams.

Now looking through these books I also looked at a lot of floating guys and I thought about a funny team of Beholders.
Just giant floating heads in football helmets with eye stalks or tentacles sticking out...maybe have one with a ball in his mouth or something! Hilarious! IMO.

A Centaur & Satyr team would be good.

I like this one. I've got a Gargoyle mini that I was going to make into a ref because I wanted one on my field.

You should get a lot of yeses for this one if the female minis I see are any indication.

Would be interesting. Built in armour, but if you break armour injury is way up. -1 to armour +1 to injury

Big demons would too powerful, but demonettes would be fun and very unique looking.

I'm still voting for a lycanthrope team.

Anthropomorphic Insects

This is on the very very very long term list.

Just to be clear ... Impact! has a list of the figures that we are going out and paying folks to sculpt for us ... so this stuff has a timeline.

But if a talented amateur sees a spot he wants to work on ... the Targeted range is always open for ideas.

Horrible little doodle I did with a marker and photoshop.

I'll do a nicer one later but the image makes me laugh. It also convinces me that a Beholder team is needed needed needed!!

I think that you should side step the typical fantasy setting a bit, I would like to see the following:

Vicars and Tarts (instead of Vampires)

Juggers (See Blood of Heroes)

Droogs

Pirates

Hazing Frat Boys (see Animal House; complete with togas and sweaters)

Grannies (see Monty Python)

If orcs get made they should be the frat boys. Although Kingdom of Loathing may not agree.

Just remember ... I need at 100 figures to sell of anything we make for it to even START to be of interest. Some of those ... I'm not sure we could sell (ie Grannies).

What about a female team? As there are no female players in normal teams, then it would be ok to have a female team.

Black Widows and Valkyries aren't enough?

A human team of Celts with druids as coaching staff.

Based on the norse FF list, with 'warped ones' (in the style of Cúchulainn or 2000ad's Sláine) instead of ulfrenyr. Maybe a giant for a big guy.

If I could sculpt, I'd do them meself. *sigh*

To be BLUNT- NO. Hey, I dig and support Impact! as much as I can do (given my budget restrictions), but the Phil's Figs have NEVER really gotten me going. And the Valks and Widows are Phil's stuff.

I think Mephisto and Lycan have a point. Team sculpted to the quality of the Zlurpee Beauty and Referee Red would make an AWESOME team.

My only caution would be to make them the same quality without resorting to "cheap/overly sexual." I cannot bring myself to purchase some team (especially for my school game club) given the scantily/suggestively clad nature of some figures. I think there is a way to make a figure sexy/attractive without crossing the lines of good taste.

*************************************************************

That said I really liked the idea of the Gargoyle team and the later suggestion of the "frat boy" team. (Was not as hot on the togas, but the preppy letter sweaters were a MUST!) Who wouldn't want to bust on these guys? Especially if you made some sort of lovesick groupie/cheerleader figure to go with them. I envision her posed to rest her hands on the QB's shoulder.

I have wanted to see a version of Grandma Wendy's future skeleton army (a body part between the shoulders and head + the Anthropologist from Friends - a few letters), so the Clockwork Army team had appeal. Besides it always seemed to me that between dwarven craftsmen and Gnome tinkering, that such a team jus t had to emerge somewhere...

I don't know that FF should necessarily be limited to an "ancient world" environment. I would think that a "future" world or "alternate" world settting could provide any number of exciting possibilities for teams.

I am also a fan of "clean" figs. Ones that can look sharp with minimal skills. Many of the figures Impact! has done are fantastic in their detail, but there is no way a 10-thumbed guy like myself would ever hope to paint a Deadling well. I heard other far more skilled painters express some concerns about painting them. I LOVED the Frogman figure, because it was simple. If I had the skill, I could add spots, tones, etc. By changing my paint, I could differentiate types of frogs or positions without needing lots of different models. This is a HUGE bonus for me as it allows me to get the kinks worked out of the paint scheme and allows my team to still look cool. (I also like uniformity in my figs- in REAL football, Payton Manning doesn't wear a different uniform from Marvin Harrison, so why do most FF figures have such wildly different uniform designs for figures on the same team?-- But I know that this is a point that only half of you might agree with me on.)

Anyways... these are just a few of themany stray thoughts going through my head after reading this thread. I'll go back to hiding/lurking in the corner now.
