What about the possibility of making a board or series of tiles for playing FF in an underground or dungeon setting - you know what I mean.
People play the Grandma Wendy version using Quest tiles, but they are not that easy to get hold of. Perhaps you could produce a number of tiles or perhaps a number of pre-laid-out boards that can be rotated to make different combinations of board.
Not only could these be used by ff players, but also by D&D etc. players.
Any thoughts?

Great idea.
No idea how practical it would be for impact though. _________________ What the hell am I doing on a mini's forum? I DON'T PAINT!!!

The current plan is this.
At some point I'm going to produce a giant granite felt mat which will have two endzone areas. Then we are going to make an add on small felt mat that can be used to expand to add more endzones.
Then I'm going to work with Litko to make plywood wall tiles that can be placed on this felt mat. Also going to work with Litko to make 6 magic circle tokens numbered 1 through 6.
Finally working to create bomb sprues and a white metal treasure chest that can be opened.
That's my end goal ... but its a ways off yet as Hotz has had numerous issues and is very very very slow to fill my orders. But he does great qualtity work.

Good to hear something might be on the cards. I'd have suggested the skilled/interested might have thought about putting something together themselves to go through Impact but seems it's already in hand. _________________ Fantasy Football Frontiersman

I have wanted to do a folding Dungeontype board for awhile. IMO a Heroquest style board would be perfect for dungeon football. That is a folding board with generic rooms where doors could be placed.
I'm glad Tom is doing something but felt and plywood don't turn me on the same way folding boards with cool graphics do. _________________ I lurk in the shadows, eying your games.

This was along the lines I was thinking, but without the 'folded' sections being attached. this way you could rotate the four parts to create different set-ups _________________ If you give a monkey alcohol it will become a fearsome martial artist.

Money is slowly being put away in an effort for me to buy a large scale (nearly) high end laser printer.
I have more than a few projects in mind for it...some are even gaming related. _________________ I lurk in the shadows, eying your games.

| Between the official tiles being available for home printing, the pdf terrain available from people like WorldWorks, and folks like Litko and Dragonfire making 3D terrain, I'm not sure there's much room in this market. Not that I don't think Impact would do a good job, I'd just be worried about return on investment. |

While we're discussing formats then - my preference is tileset rather than fixed. I'm not even sure a board/mat is needed for football in a tunnel but there's always been a market for a surface on which various dungeoneering can take place. _________________ Fantasy Football Frontiersman

Do you have a direct link to what you mean from WorldWorks?
I've tried to check their stuff, but their website design only shows their catalogue if I hover over the button - as soon as I try t move to a specific one, the windows closes. _________________ What the hell am I doing on a mini's forum? I DON'T PAINT!!!

Well I agree that the market is saturated as far as dungeon tiles go...but not football dungeon tiles.
I'd also love to see more variant folding boards. Astro-granitish, chaos pitches, ice pitches etc.
I'd also wager (which I will eventually) that there is a market for Robo-Rally style modular boards for a fantasy football game...or at least ones that can be used for both football and dungeon crawls.
I don't think the warhammer quest tiles are as easy to get as you might think. I know you can download them for free but that involves DIY cutting and pasting...not to mention printing the graphics on regular copy paper.
IMO people are always more interested in buying a finished product of higher quality.
There's also a market for foldable cardstock 3D bitz like treasure chests, teleporters, etc. _________________ I lurk in the shadows, eying your games.
