Black Industries to close
http://www.blackindustries.com/?t...content=newslist&newsitem=350
| Quote: | 28/January/2008 - Black Industries Announcement
Black Industries regret to announce that Dark Heresy: Disciples of the Dark Gods out in September will be the final product to be released from Black Industries.
Kevin Rountree General Manager of BL Publishing said ‘As a result of the continued and impressive success of our core novels business, which we have built around 40K and Warhammer, we have decided to focus all of our efforts on growing this part of our business. Black Industries has seen fantastic success, most recently with Talisman and Dark Heresy. This change does not take away from that achievement rather it allows BL Publishing to focus on producing the best novels we can. This is a purely commercial decision and will enable us to carry on the huge growth that we have recently been experiencing with our novels’
For the time being Black Industries will continue to post articles in support of the products on their official website, which is a fantastic resource for scenarios and gaming tools for GM’s and players alike. |
So, it's been a "fantastic success", so we're going to close it.
On the "Fantastic success" front:
Talisman - sold out
Dark Heresy (40K RPG) - sold out before it was officially released.
B*stards - I've been waiting for years for a 40K RPG, and now, just as it's released, they pull the plug on half it's releases.

So you gonna make a new box set and a rules that work?
Okay, I'll shut up now. Thank God for Impact.
My group was talking about fantasy football and hypothetically what it would take to play it and fix the current rules and they finally came to the conclusion that it was easier to just play Elfball rather than house rule every stinking aspect of the rules.
The only things they are seriously crying for in Elfball are secret weapons. _________________ "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."

Nice, I don't think the prices for it are going to stay low now. I've already had an offer of £100 for mine... |

Better get me those last few interesting WFRP books I wanted, before I again have to pay lots for them... Luckily I got most of the good ones... _________________ "Redfang turns up and all hell breaks loose" |

Does it use the same mechanics as the Warhammer Fantasy RPG?
If so, I might have to break my Grandma Wendy boycott for one product. A sci-fi version of those rules would be pretty cool. _________________ "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."

More importantly does it use the same career tree format format for classes?
Entry and Exit Careers and such? That would be cool for a military style RPG. _________________ "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."

Wait, are there other exits for the character besides those shown? For example can the character branch off from the Seargent career and start something else?
For example in WHFRPG a Ranger Outrider could become a Mercenary and then an Artillerist and then whatever.
