Nice DL. What'd you use for the plastic stick?

We had checked into making the shoestring look like that when we first started but it was too expensive and since the string only gets taken out once or twice a game normally ... just didn't seem worth the expense.

I've played several games without ever grabbing the string.

Balsa wood.

Well we used them for one game and they are great for interception checking but they are a bit inaccurate for pass distance, due to the nature of hexes being...well hex shaped.
When I asked the coaches if they preferred using passing templates for distance or counting hexes, the unanimous answer was counting hexes.
The unanimous reason was that it avoids any arguable situations. 7 hexes is too far, 6 is not and there's no arguing that.

We'll use them in place of the shoe string (after I trim them to fit into the boxes) but the markings are just for show.
