|
Headslicer was sent to the caster at the end of July. My caster told me that after an unexpected delay he should be master moulded by the end of this month which means he should be in the store between late October and mid-November.
Hope you like. Headslicer is a big guy ... he'll be sold with a Prone/Stunned token just like Bertha Giantfist is.
He's big enough to be a nice display piece as well.
When I have a metal copy in ... I'll get a playing field picture of him for you.

That is the best "RAT"-type model I have ever seen. I don't really have a need for one, but dang he is cool looking.
Also what is the rune on his shoulder, it looks cool and similar to other stuff, but I can't place it. Does it have any special meaning? |

Actually that symbol is VERY close to the symbol used by a white supremecist group, the Afrikaners Resistance Movement. No joke, I have a book of flags that shows that symbol on a flag for the ARM (in the section of flags of movements and resistance). It was meant to be similar to the nazi swastika (but only used 3 arms instead of 4). _________________ Torg |

No the symbol didn't mean anything.
The sculptor has no idea about the ARM.
And to be more specific ... the spokes coming from the center of the ARM symbol line up perfectly with the end of the bent sections whereas they aren't even close on this one.
I don't want Torg's post to suggest that Impact! has any relationship with such ideals as what ARM represents ... could not be further from the truth.

Is that a 40mm or 50mm base he is on? |

Just had someone personally email us at Impact! about the symbol asking us to change it.
Okay ... I'll try to do this very professionally.
That symbol structure has a name ... its called a Triskelion ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triskelion ).
Its a very old pattern that goes back quite a while.
Very little research on my part found these:
Above ...
1st: Used by Tau Gamma Phi ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triskelion_Grand_Fraternity ). Which is an organization with over 700,000 members which "believes that it must forge its members to embody qualities of leadership, commitment, persistence, trust, integrity, respect, and vision. This fraternity aims for academic success, personal, career and spiritual growth, active participation in the community through service and social activities."
2nd: License plate from the Isle of Man
3rd: Symbol from ancient Greek architecture.
4th: Sicilian Flag
I really do appreciate the email we received and I'm open to anyone emailing me about something they are concerned about ... but this symbol is much older than the small powers of hate that currently use it ... and if the forces of good don't allow it to be "theirs" ... its one more step to not allowing hate to control.
Its not a white power symbol ... its a Triskelion. Do a google image search on triskelion or triskelion logo and you'll have pages dedicated to Tau Gamma Phi (an organization of pure peace), greek architechure and country flag symbols and some sci-fi references. I went though pages of these images on my Google search and never saw it pop as a hate symbol.
If you don't give power to a symbol that isn't deserved ... then that symbol does not gain that power.

And I'm fairly certain I have seen some other anthropomorphic rodents wearing that symbol too.
Do white supremacist groups have ANY symbols that they didn't steal from ancient mythologies?
I guess when your group depends on its followers being sheep who hate free thinking, it's hard to be creative, huh?

So that answers the question of where that symbol came from ... okay that really is case closed for me.

Grandma Wendy is generally about as creative as some of the aforementioned groups when it comes to symbols, story lines, and other small details of their world.
The hypocrisy of their litigiousness is really sad. _________________ "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."
