So here's the story. I've worked 18 years for the same company where the average person quits after 3 1/2 years. I was laid off at the end of July along with all the management level programmers in my region ( I wish the folks I supervised well without all their teachers and mentors).

With that background, I talked to my wife and instead of trying to find another job working for the "man" I'd like to try and run Impact! full time. She gave me a money goal to hit in August that would prove to her it might work and keep me from buying new suits and hitting the interviews to find a new day job.

Impact! is 1000 GBP away from the goal my wife gave me with 5 days left in August. Sorry ... need to add this ... the prices in the store have ALREADY been discounted 25% to make it easy for you to order.

I updated the website last week so that I can change prices very quickly now (including ... updating the site twice a month to keep all the prices up to date on currency translations).

Only a smallish order - literally, considering what I've ordered - but I've put in an order too. With a little bit of tweaking, this new stuff and some stuff I already had nearly finished I think I unexpectedly have a complete new team :)

We've hit the goal ... as a thank you to everyone who really wanted to get in but have not yet ... the sale will run until the 10 pm GMT - 5 today and then its over.

I also had some folks misunderstand and think that this might happen at the end of every month. It won't. This was a one time sale. And I really thank everyone who participated.

Wonders if now that Galak has all this free time and the rules are going to be set to LRB 6 for a while if the PBEM Tool will get a much needed update.
