Purdindas organised the tourney, and boy was it fun. Normally the focus is on scoring and winning, but Ant had random spot prizes which kept things very interesting. Prizes were awarded for first death caused and first player ejection by the ref. i for one have never wanted to kill or be caught fouling so bad in my life before. i actually won the "best painted team" award, which i wasn't expecting as i still haven't finished painting them! the winner of the "most casualties caused" award, who's name escapes me (refresh my memory Ant), was very well deserved mainly thanks to his 9 feet of ogre. that thing is a monster in every way.
and now onto the especially good news for the scottish based fans of impact!
it seems there is a new gaming store opening in this part of scotland, and they will be stocking impact! goods. i was reliably informed that purdindas is responsible for this, and the owner of the new store had a stand with a selection of goods on sale. including impact! goods. between the second and third round, i popped out to buy a few things, and the impact stuff was almost sold out! so i had to nab the mini deadwood and the ghoul before it was too late. when i got back to the game room, just about every FF player had something with the impact logo.
next time i'll be taking my elfball game with me, not to mention leaving my useless ogre and tactics at home.

I'm in fife, Purdindas knows more about it but i do know that the guy is setting up shop in kirkcauldy. dedicated games shops (other than granny stores) are a rare thing these days. the ones i have come across are a bit too far from me, so i'm looking forward to it. i'll try get more info and post it here _________________ MidniteXpress

The tournament went well I thought. I had a lot of fun organising it and watching the 8 coaches who turned up beating the hell out of each others teams.
I tried to make it as bashy a tournament as possible with the rule set focused more on casualties than touch downs. It was no surprise then that only 2 elf teams turned up.
I hope to make it bigger and better next year. Thanks to everyone who attended. Pics can be found here: http://www.createforum.com/phpbb/...tart=90&mforum=teamscotlandbb
Hope the link works.
This is 'the other game' remember.
@ Norse The guy who is opening the shop in Dave Wright and the shop is called kingdom of adventure. He is indeed supporting impact mini's. He asked me about what Fantsy football mini's he could sell and I pointed him to impact. Granny only lets independants stock the boxed game and he was interested in having a larger range. Next year I'm hopeful his shop will host the kingdom cup.
Are you from Scotland Norse? _________________ Purdindas |

yup, spent the first 26 years of my life there too - mostly Ayrshire, but I went to Uni in St Andrews and then worked in 5 different Granny shops across the country in the space of 2 years - so I know a lot of the gaming crowd (or did 15 years ago )
glad I moved to the US though - at least over here I don't get asked what football team I support by drunks looking for a fight.. _________________ in this company my painting skills are limited at best.. |
