Hi all, wonder if you can offer some advice.

I bought the weather tokens and they look great.

However, the fit isn't 100% on all pieces- 3 of them are really snug fits and the bases don't come off when you pick them up, but one is too large to fit in the base, and another is too loose.

I therefore have two questions:

(i) In order to keep the loose one in place I want to glue it in place, but what sort of glue (if any) will keep the clear bit clear (as opposed to going frosty)?

(ii) Any advice on how to file a fraction of a millimetre (a very small fraction of an inch for our metrically-challenged brethren) off this type of plastic and get a clean finish?

Any advice would be most welcome.

Thanks!

Tomba

I don't know of any. Super glue would be your best bet but I'm pretty sure it will dry frosty. I would just use the tiniest bit.

I would gently use needle files but if you feel that's too rough I would say get some very fine sandpaper. Testors makes some for model cars and the lightest is very fine, but I'm sure any decent hardware store would have some super fine paper as well.

I used PVA Glue on mine. It dries clear and I haven't had any problems just be careful not to put too much on.

I think he means absolutely clear. Transparent vs. translucent. I don't know that I have ever seen Elmer's dry transparent unless it was very thin.

The model car guys have a glue called Crystal Clear that is made for windshields that may do the trick.  It does dry very clear.
