Something that I'd love to see, wether it be a One off or not, is a Competition. Something to help showcase talent of those who buy from impact, but to also unearth potentially great miniatures.
Something along the lines of you need to sculpt something to fit in with current Impact Ranges (Hockey, Elfball or NBN) and it's judged by Galak, Norse and Co. Winner gets the figure in as a Targetted Impact miniature.
Not sure if this is the path Impact would want to take, but it'd be damn cool :)

Don't think it needs to be a competition, as anyone can in theory can present a sculpt for possible inclusion in the targeted range. _________________ What the hell am I doing on a mini's forum? I DON'T PAINT!!!

That's true, but I think the idea of a competition to get a mini in the normal range is a cool one.
Something like your sculpt has to have X, Y and Z features, be part of the existing Elfball teams, and be no bigger than such and such mm.
Then a vote, either public or private to determine a winner. That would be pretty cool.
Or even if it was just made part of the fantasy range, you could do a competition anyway. Yeah it wouldn't mean much...but it would be publicity.
It would maybe let a few new people know about Impact and the Targeted range. _________________ "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."

Maybe if all entrants can be viewed and voted upon by the Impact! customers... Only have the cast-able pieces done.
Maybe even open it up for character drawings and concepts. _________________ Scott

We are always open to Targeted submissions.
Right now Impact! is restructuring to slow growth so we are not going out seeking new projects as much as we used to.
That said ... we do currently have a release schedule that goes through May of next year with only April of next year planned as a month where we do not release a new product for our store.

Which is the entire reason I suggested it in the first place. Think of it not only as an opportunity to
A) Bring people who may not usually contribute into activity
B) Promote Involvement in actual model production for those who do.
C) Showcase Talent
D) Get us all a shiney new model.
Obviously you would have conditions and such, but I think it would be cool. Aero's suggestion for Drawings and Concept art would be good too, especially if there was the potentiall to get said artwork into a future Rulebook/Expansion. _________________ If you can Dodge a Wench, you can dodge a ball |

I dabble a bit in sculpting in the very little spare time that I have and think the a competition for concepts and drawings is a cracking idea.
Inspiration is sometimes short coming and not knowing what the end user (you guys) wants can sometimes be frustrating.
If the winner or winners are succesful then it could move onto a sculpting competition, based on the winning concepts.
The final sculpts could be treated the same as the targeted figures and the designers will see there ideas come to life and maybe get a handful of minis for there work.
Everyones a winner.
