"Tank girl" team

I can't say I like the comic Tank girl all that much. I DO however love the sketches and the style of her world and I'm curious if anybody would be interested in me trying my hand at a sort of "whacked out postapocalyptic" team vaguely inspired by the Tank girl universe? Or wouldn't that fit with fantasy football?
Dark Lord

I think the "punk" is a HUGE part of what is missing from fantasy football these days.

I say do it.
Fantasy is the first word in fantasy football. It's YOUR vision that makes it fantasy.

So what if some people don't like it.

Don't ask permission, just do it, post and some will like it and some won't.

Asking permission is not something I'm in the habit of doing
It's more of a "market survey" thingy. And, more importantly, a question directed to the Impact team. I have a female nude - and a few that are just the armatures - that would do fine but if there's lack of interest I'd rather turn them into something else.
Dark Lord

Personally I love Tank Girl and I would love to see Elf Ball leave the confines of a medieval fantasy world for a number of reasons.

The idea of something akin to fantasy football in Tank Girl's world is much more interesting to me anyway.

Doesn't have to be "post-apocalyptic" in the sense that it's Earth after a nuclear war, or a comet strike, or whatever. It could be anywhere at any time...that allows the tech level to be whatever the designers say it is.

IMO fluff is a real big part of the appeal of a game. I mean how else did that-other-game get such a loyal fan base? It hasn't exactly had the best track record for editions with playable rules out of the box, has it?
Especially 3rd edition. People WANTED it to work because the IDEA was so fun so they made it work.

Since the fluff of Elf Ball is still wide open I would love to see it taken even farther away from that-other-game. If it goes to a world that's a bit like Tank Girl/Gorrilaz/Steam-Punk then I'll be elated.

Wastelands, mohawks, safety pins, boots and bad attitudes applied heavily to High Elves makes my wiener hard.

have to agree with everything Eric said, except for the weiner comment.

The 'cyber-punk' look works better for FF than medieval does.
Dark Lord

That-other-game always seemed more like it belonged in Shadowrun than a-world-of-wars-and-hammers...ahem.

I started work on an egyptian style football sports game a while ago. Then lost the rules I'd written up and gave up.

Not strictly a futuristic game as such. But it could have easily been set in a futuristic setting with Egyptian influences in the player and pitch styles. In fact, that's how I'd prefer to do it now.
Still, it got abandoned and atm I can't be bothered to rebuild the rules from what I remember 'cause I'm not sure there would be interest.

I actually liked the film as crazy as it was it was a lot of fun...The attitude is perfect for FF...sadly lacking figures Though!

So: Working name for an all female punk team:
"The hellcat punks".
Sketches and first armatures coming shortly
Any chainsaws needed?
Justice

The idea of a near future/post apocalyptic setting for a FF game is ace. Cyber punks, mad mutants, crazed cyborgs and busty ladies, has FF writen all over it if you ask me!

You only have to look at the 'main stream' FF portrayal, video games like Speed Ball or Mutant League Football and movies like Salute Of The Jugger, to see it was made for the setting!
FILAMENT

You've all seen The Blood of Heroes with Rutger Hauer right?

Post Apocalyptic FF played with a dog skull!

Ouch. I LOVE Rutger Hauer! Yet I seem to have missed this film.
Current situation on the team: I made three figures in various states of completion. All looked like shite. So I started again. I'll post the crap figures so you can get an idea of the general idea I had With the new figures I'm devoting more attention to the nudes before I even start adding clothes and stuff.
