A question concerning weapons

I allways assumed fantasy football was an unarmed affair but then I saw that one of the anubis players seems to have some kind of daggers and I've also heard chainsaws mentioned one or two times, So what are the basic rules concerning weapons?
More specific: Would a chain be OK? A baseball bat? I'm talking about makeshift weapons here - postapocalyptic style.

Or whatabout an A-bomb? Just a small one mind ... That OK? I guess it would make for a pretty short (but entertaining) game

There are many "weapons" in FF. Most players have some sort of spikes on thier armour though they have no in game effects

in game weapons...

bombs
chainsaws
daggers
ball & chain
pogo stick (with a spike on the bottom)
the infamous deathroller

these weapons are used by specialized players (not anybody can have them) most of them on the goblin team.
Weapons are considered illegal and using all but daggers will get you kicked out. (the daggers are easier to hide from the ref)

FF normally has the following weapons within reason.
1) Hand spikes (usually just one) and usually only on blitzer / Big Guy type players
2) Armour spikes ... very common on many players

===

Other weapons are VERY selective in FF.

The Goblin teams have Chainsaw, Bombs, Pogo Sticks, and whirling Ball and Chain players

The Dwarf team has a Deathroller.

The night elf team has 2 knife players

After that any players with weapons are star players that can only be purchased for a single match.

A Hobgoblin, night elf, Skink, and Rat with a Knife
Goblin stars with all 4 of their weapons
Amazon player with wooden stakes
Dwarf player with bombs, chainsaw, and bazooka
Chaos Dwarf player with bazooka
Orc with Chainsaw
Skeleton with Chainsaw
Human with Chainsaw
Chaos Warrior with Chainsaw

That pretty much covers all the weapons I think.

OK, thanks. Another thing that struck me when I looked up football equipment was that not many fantasy footballers seem to wear anything even vaguely resembling real football shoulderpads:

Is there a reason for this? Personally I think that looks cooler than shoulderpads that look glued on (I find myself looking for the fastening straps all the time ). They would surely be good for a postapocalyptic style team anyway right?

I'm sorry the imps seem to have something more similar to that.

well its not quite post-apocalyptic, its traditionally a fantasy setting so many of the older players seem to have grabbed whatever armour they have at hand, and even more specialised stuff is adapted from military designs.

although the mould has been broken somewhat with the new human, vampire and elf teams.

Oh I know. But the team I'm designing most definitely is
Xtreme

I'd really like to see a team with real shoulder pads.

id be very interested in a team with layered shoulder pads, like on gladiator. in fact, id be very very interested by a romanesque themed team....its the big praetorian crest thingys!

Ok, so we're looking for an ape team with laminated shoulder pads...

Seriously, that does sound like a neat team.

You could have an orangutan for the team wizard.... With some books...

I've been dreaming of this team for awhile Bryan, and I think you may have peaked into my head a bit.

Maybe I should try and sculpt something myself.
