I wonder how much of that was because no-one wanted it, and how much because it wasn't exactly the best figure.
It is (imo) the worst fig that GF made, and I only have one because I brought the "all in one" deal.

I would love a FF team. The GF figure is terrible. It just doesn't look right. Really, what would be totally cool, imo, is a FF team look from like the 30's or 40's, with leather helmets.

Yup, have to admit, the GF fig was, is horrible.
A decently sculpted Yank footy team would be nice as an alternative, but it may be difficult to achieve.

Okay ... not to throw more cold water on this .... but Phil's Multiple Part Humans were another attempt at Human Football type figures and they are the worst selling figures for both Phigs when they were open and for us as well.
Now you can tell me that those were poor figures also ... but what I'm trying to get at so far is that the first two attempts by companies did not result in a great deal of return on investment (or maybe even recovery of investment).

Tom, those were Phil's worst efforts, Grandma Wendy sabotoging Khemri aside, imo. I love phil, but I don't think his heart was into sculpting at that point in phig's existence. Plus, frankly, multi part models aren't going to be geared to the enthusiasts as a whole. A lot folks have a hard enough time painting to a personal satisfying standard, much less than converting.
They can be done, but they have to be done "right." Linemen have to be in true pass blocking and run blocking position, Receivers have to be breaking or making a cut, Throwers have to be looking downfield (ala 5th Ed. Humie Throwers), Blitzers need to look like Mike Singletary pointing at the QB and calling Defensive Signals. In other words, the models, i think need to be fluid in indivudal poses but coordinated so they look like organized chaos.
Oh...and you need a really skinny kicker with oversized equipment. Like Martin "Automatica" Grammatica.

ever see those snickers commercials where the fan is hiding in the dirty laundry bag trying to grab a game worn jersey? You see things.

The reason I have not invested cash in Phil's humans are because I'm not sure what I'd be getting from them in a form of quality. The pictures aren't that great. I know Phil is a great sculptor bit I'd still like to see in detail what I'm getting!
Maybe if you would show one of those multi-part players assembled you may sell more. The photos shown for those phig pieces aren't the best detailed shots that you could get. One really can't see much on them at all. You need to put one or two together, get Norse to paint em up and post the pics. See if that will do anything for the sales!

Agree with aerofool - I've been tempted to buy them in the past, but I've never seen (or at leastcan't remember seeing) more than one completed fig.
A couple (or more) painted players in various poses should go a long way to make them more popular.

I believe gken put some pictures up a while ago showing them assembled and later on painted. They were a part of his bretonnian team, the men-at-arms iirc.
But he's taken those pictures down.
I certainly agree that the sales might be helped if people could see three or four of them assembled and painted. Cause from memory I can't remember what they were like, only vague impressions that they didn't look half bad.

I got enough stuff during Impact's generous holiday promotion that I was able to pick up the components for a Phigs multi-part human for free. I figured I'd take the opportunity to pick it up while it wasn't costing me any thing so that I could study it firsthand, since I agree with the others that the photos of the metal sprues on the site leave a bit to be desired. Of course, given my schedule, I haven't really taken any time to look at it yet and am not sure when I actually will... but if I ever do actually do anything with it, I'll be sure to post the results here!
