ARBBL goes Dwarf

For the Spiky Open in Reading in Oct, the ARBBL group (my club's FF league)  will all be taking Impact Dwarf teams - we're all using the same roster, but each of us chose different models to make up our teams.  5 teams will be makng the trip, although there will only be 4 coaches (one will have been posted away by then ), with a dedicated display base for all 5 teams.

The teams are all in various stages (still waiting for some arms so I can start putting mine together), but wanted to show you a pic of one of the figs, as it blew me away when I saw it.

More pics when we get better ones taken.

Cool idea, all the same roster, so if you finish higher than your friends you can boast all the way home.

Watch out spiky!

Sounds like a cool project ... look forward to seeing the final product.

Exactly that reason + in our league, I don't automatically win all the games, yet I always finish hishest in tourneys (unless I deliberately take a crap race, and even then I don't always come last), so we decided to do this to see if it is luck more than anything when my lot attend tourneys.

Not sure I'd go that far!
I think 3 or 4 in the Dungeonbowl is doable though!

The ball looks a bit too small on the picture
Darkson

Ball comes from the Pumpkinhead ball arm (with hand resculpted).

It's a nice idea, but is there actually going to be a Spiky Open this year? I haven't seen it announced yet and it's not on the NAF list.
duttydave

If the Spiky doesn't go ahead then I hope that the Andover lads put on the ARBBL Second Coming part 2.

If no Spiky what's the chances? pretty please Darkson
Darkson

Big gap in posts but...

Spiky is going ahead (check TBB for details - I'm not 100% certain wheter it's been posted on the NAF site [edit] it's on the NAF tourney list, but there was no thread about it on the forum, so I've started one [/edit] ), so no, the ARBBL won't be doing a 2nd Coming this year.

The teams are well on their way, 2 teams finished, one team almost completed (was finished, but then the coach descided to change some colours), one has a bit of colour ( ) and one is on it's way (coach was working in the Falklands, so has an excuse).

Updates can either be found at our website (http://arbbl.webs.com/) or the Photobucket album I set up for us (http://s564.photobucket.com/albums/ss82/ARBBL/).
Darkson

All 5 dwarf teams are finished (well, mine need basing, but that's in hand so they match the other 4 teams).

Last updated pics are here: http://arbbl.webs.com/apps/photos/album?albumid=5598310 , but there won't be anymore updates until after Spiky next weekend, as we want to keep some surprises.

Pics of all 5 teams will be up after the tourney though.

Best bit of all of it (and I have to say I hate painting - it was a real struggle) is that I now have a painted (3/10 effort) dwarf team, so I never need to paint another dwarf model again!
Thadrin

They make mine (which I think are pretty good...hell, even Norse said so) look crap :(
Darkson

Mine aren't up there yet. Trust me, yours are better than mine - the ones up on the site now are from the guys at the club that enjoy painting.
Darkson

It's all over - photos of the finished teams and base will be up over the week.
Best placing was mine (thanks to a lucky win in the last game), at 20th of 32.

I now have a fully painted dwarf team, and I never want to platy dwarfs again!
Darkson

Pics are now up - comments on the painting is welcome, but not on mine (it sucks, I know it sucks, and I hated painting so much I refuse to put time into learning to do it bett! ), as it comments on why a non-FF club would want to go to so much effort (which we all asked ourselves! ).
Xtreme

That is a really cool idea, had fun looking at the pictures you guys did a good job.
