bouncing balls and pick ups

Couple of things came up today;

1. If you throw the ball to an empty square and it's accurate would it still bounce once? We figured it would but couldn't find a reference.

2. It says that it costs a point of jog to pick up a ball but it also says you MUST pick up the ball if you move into it's square. What if your last point of jog takes you into the square with the ball? What if it's your last point of jog but you still have momentum? Do you have to use the momentum if you've got it but have a go for 'free' if you don't? Sounds a bit odd?

Cheers

The ball doesn't bounce, it sticks elfballs are slightly magically and unlike other FF balls

Secondly, you always have one free action after your jog runs out so, that free action would be to pick up the ball.  This also works if you use all of your jog to get to an opponent then want to push him.  you could do this, but then you couldn't follow up without a dash challenge.

OK cool.

Is there a rules reference to the 'one free action' thing or was it discussed somewhere here?

Thanks

and I quote
Quote:
When a player performs an action he may perform many
different challenges as long as he has paces of Jog left. The
active player may perform each challenge (other than
Impact/Tackle) as many times as desired per action.
Each time a player moves from one hex to another he uses
one pace of his Jog. All challenges (other than Dash,
Disengage, Catch, Impact and Interception) require one
pace of Jog to perform unless the challenge is the last
thing you attempt during your normal action in which
case it costs no Jog to perform.
The below table shows
the if a point of Jog is required for a given challenge:

So there it is in black and white for you.
