Challenge for homeless animals-please help?(no Money) part 2Here we go again ... and thanks in advance for anyone helping!
Remeber last year we found out you could vote once per IP per a day. So if you've got access to multiple IPs ... go for it!!!
Last year our efforts made them #1 in the state and they received $1000 which was much appreciated!
Maybe this time if we start right at the contest instead of after the first 2 weeks are done ... we can get one of the really big prizes. Let's see if we can blow the lid off this one!
====
The contest:
All this takes is a bit of your time ... not any money.
My wife and I help with caring for shelter animals until they are ready to be adopted by new families.
We've worked with a LOT of different shelters and the bottom line to me is that it really is difficult to find one that I consider top notch. In fact up until a year ago ... I had never worked with a shelter that I would openly ask folks to help like this. My wife and I did it for the animals ... not the shelter.
The current shelter we are helping is beyond incredible compared to any shelter that I've ever dealt with.
So here is all you have to do to get them some extra money. A site is sending support to Shelters if all they do is get folks to endorse them and you can do it once a day. NO MONEY ... just a web click.
To do it:
Copy and paste this link into your browser
http://www.theanimalrescuesite.co...e/shelterchallenge.faces?siteId=3
On the Shelter name area cut and paste this name:
Humane Society for Hamilton County
Then select the state IN and click Search.
The correct shelter will come up and you can Vote for it
Then you'll see a picture of an animal ... type in the name of the animal and your vote is in.
Took me about 20 seconds.
For anyone willing to do this ... thank you. The event goes through July 26th. So I might bump this a few times. They give weekly prizes as well so even a burst of support is awesome.
But anytime you go in and vote for the shelter you have my thanks for helping the first shelter that I've worked with that I love how they treat the animals (all the time) AND how they treat their volunteers (which is where most that I've worked with fail).
Thanks again.

Don't forget if you have access to more than one computer then you can vote more than once a day.
-Learned this trick from the Chicago Democratic Party.
Also, if you use different browsers you can vote multiple times.

Didn't know about the multiple browsers, but have been doing the 4 (3 on weekends) computers a day. I just bookmarked the page after entering the shelter info, then each day I just need to click the vote link :D
Have to give the multiple browser a shot

Doesn't always seem to work - Tom seems to think it's based on IPs, rather than browsers, but there's no harm in giving it a go if you have the time.
If you have a variable IP (like mine seems to be sometimes), then you can vote as many times as your IP changes.

Anyone else having a problem getting on their site to vote? I keep getting "The page cannot be displayed".

No problems until I do the search and vote portion. Then it times out.

That is the issue I have been having. Started a few days ago. I keep trying throughout the day when I think about it but its kind of frustrating.

Hmm, just tried it myself and it worked fine.

It may be intermittent. Could be a busy server...and that would be a good thing, I guess!
