Dare I say it...... 40K

Do any of you guys play 40k? or any other wargames?

Currently im playing 40k again and have realised the words money and sink go in a sentence somewhere along with Grandma Wendy.

Im waiting on EB but have the read the rules a few times in anticipation and if you do play 40K what army do you play?
Dark Lord

I'm starting to get into Warmachine, also I currently use The Warengine to play most minis games.

I won't touch Grandma Wendy stuff, sorry.    I used to put up with broken and clunky rules because they had nice minis, but now...uh, they can keep it all as far as I'm concerned.

I play a lot of Necromunda, Mordheim and Gorkamorka alongside Bl00d Bowl, as well as the occansional foray into Talisman and Quest.  I have also got a little back into 40K, though it's still nowhere as fun as Rogue Trader or 2nd edition.

I don't touch WFB with a bargepole, unless it's a "story" style like Path of Glory.

Yep, for all I dislike their prices, practices, etc, etc, I'm a Grandma Wendy whore.
MidniteXpress

occasionally gorkamorka, with added speial rules *insert evil laugh*. i've pretty much given up on 40k.

gorkamorka mayhem rule: if the driver and gunner on a trukk are killed, with a squid on board, the squig can drive by jumping up and down on the turbo button. for movement roll scatter for direction (sqigs can't steer) and 2d6 for distance. on a roll of double 1 the trukk explodes, but the sqig automatically survives.
Dark Lord

I didn't get to play enough Gorkamorka but I enjoyed what I did.

Necromunda is a fantastic game, and should be supported equally as much as Bl00d B0wl should.

Mordheim...they really should have just used Necromunda rules, or something. I don't know, all I know is that game is about as broken as a game can get and still be somewhat fun. Mordheim would have benefited from the Elfball style of team rating/management IMO...Necro for that matter too. It would work really well for those games IMO. or something like you could have a huge regiment in your stable but each battle was fought with only a certain point level. Of course I haven't played it years so maybe that's what they do now?

I like 40k but it does take some time to balance armies so its a fun game all round. I think as long as everyone wants to have fun and not just win then it can lead to a rewarding game.

At the minute im trying to put together about 4 500 point armys so that my friends who dont have the mini's can play and it can still be balanced.

Kinda makes me feel like necromunda would have been an easier option but Hey ho this is life.
Norse

I used to play a lot of 40K - talking about a decade ago here - in fact, I have a TON of minis to sell - let me know if you are looking for stuff as I would rather you spent your hard earned cash on Impact!s reasonably priced stuff..

Magic Dave

Did play 40k but grew out of the rules, got bored waiting for my turn, only really Grandma Wendy game i play is FF, got talisman and that was fun.

But tried dark Heresay and really liked it, a bit like insqusitor* but a really good way to game the 40k universe with out the 40k ruleset

* sorry i can't spell
