Doctor Who - MAJOR spoilers within, you have been warned...Ok, I'm not kidding when I write about this. It has the potential to hold some major spoilers for next week's episode. Whopping great big huge ones. So if you're at all concerned about having stuff spoilered come back next week after watching Journey's End. There are also spoilers about the Christmas special.
Seriously. Last chance, I'm putting in a massive gap here to be safe.
You sure?
Ok, here goes.
Now in many ways these are predictions based on events I've seen in and around Cardiff. The BBC use quite a few areas close to where I live for the star's trailers and as such I get to see things that a lot of you guys don't. Fortunately I'm not the only one who sees this stuff, so there are photographs.
The major thing is this.
David Tennant has been filming the 2008 Christmas special, so he's going to be around for sure.
But, David Morrisey is also attached to the film with the following name on his trailer at the site "The Other Doctor"
Just look at that costume... It smells like Time Lord to me.
Here's the speculative part, Tenth Doctor's Hand (which has been shown in every interior shot of the tardis this season) interferes with his regeneration. Triggering both a regeneration of Tenth and a reconsitution of him from the hand. This results in two Doctors.
That's pure speculation, but I'm confident the hand will stop him regenerating. David Morrisey could just be playing a Victorian Doctor in the 2008 Christmas Special, but the name on his trailer doesn't quite indicate that. Shrugs.
There's no sign of Catherine Tate - read into that what you will. But the signs haven't been promising this season.
But there are...
These Guys.
HOORAY!
If you want to find out more just google or youtube for Doctor Who Christmas Special 2008.

Well, it seems that David Morrisey is not attached as a second "Doctor" but I was quite right about the regeneration from the hand. I just wasn't right that the cloned one would regenerate as well.
In fact the only thing I was wrong about was Donna, who got retconned out of the series. Still, that's pretty much the same as dying, except it's softer on the viewer.
Mickey was there (which was fricking awesome), found out about the bees, Davros, the hand regeneration thing and of course, the Cyberman Christmas.
Weren't Tennant and Tate great at acting with each other's character traits?
Prediction now is Mickey and Martha are joining Torchwood next season. Hopefully two quality actors like Freema and Noel can life TW out of the gutter it lays in at the moment.

How are they going to do that? Having two good actors isnt going to fix the diabolical script problems.
It was a very good episode. I have to say though... I'm disappointed that they killed the entire Dalek race AGAIN. Leave the Daleks alone already, or at least stop claiming that "we killed them all" when you blatently didnt.

Noel Clarke is a writer himself, he wrote one episode in the first season of TW (Weevil Fight Club) and more importantly wrote the excellent movies Kidulthood and Adulthood.
Also the second season episodes with Martha in did show an improvement over others previously and the second season as a whole was infinately better than the first season. They're learning from their mistakes.

seeing john barrowman die again and again never gets old.
:P
in all honesty though, i find captain jack can breathe a bit of life into an episode of Who.
'three doctors? you dont want to know what im thinking right now...'

That was a great episode.
I'm damn pissed having to wait months for the new series, which in my book is a sign that the series just gone worked.
Shame about Donna though, I think Tate had got the character down completely now, and I was really warming to her.

Well compared to the other series enders that was sort of...meh. It was good and I enjoyed it but the whole end with the Doctor Donna seemed to happen very fast and was a little too "magic button" for me.
I mean Donna becoming half Time Lord is cool and really could have made for some fun stuff but all she did was pop out, speak techno babble way to fast to even decipher its gist and poof Daleks are dead!
It all took about 2 minutes. Yeesh!
At least Mickey and Jack got to swashbuckle a bit in that episode.
Overall...I'm left wanting more. Which is going to make the wait even more agonizing.
Luckily PBS and BBC America show reruns.

It was bound to work out like that sadly. RTD always writes himself into a corner and then uses Deus Ex Machina to get himself out. It's one of the reasons why I'm glad he's leaving, the BBC should have given him the episodes before the finale to write and then let someone else actually write the final episode instead.
At least it wasn't actually a magic button, a magic word or a magic dumptruck and girl this time. It was a little (ish) better engineered than the previous finales, but that's like saying it's better to have a house made from of jelly over one of cheese.

Well I loved the Bad Wolf finale. Yeah it was a magic button...but the difference in my head was that when that magic button was pushed we got cool dialogue, and really great visuals. I mean, this is Doctor Who after all, you go in expect some techno babble and magic buttons, but like most things what matters is the presentation.
Rose saying cool things like "You are tiny. I can see the whole of time and space, every single atom of your existence and I divide them." Bad ass!
Donna doing a "whack-a-mole" pop-up and saying "beeble babble, fraxle snaxle pop, goes the weasle guvna! Now backwards! Wooop!"
Not bad ass.
I appreciate the good job both actors did and I have warmed to Donna a bit but that didn't do it for me.
Not to mention the fact that we had Rose, Jack, Mickey, & Martha plus TWO Doctors in the room and they just stood and watched. ppppppt.
Anyway, what I did like was Davros and I hope he returns. I'm also hoping that the Time War is unlocked and the Doctor can go back and save some Time Lords.

Oh and you Brits may already know but my wife sent me this, this morning.

Looks like no Martha in Torchwood. Damn, I was hoping maybe with Martha there I would get into it.
Does anyone know if Noel Clarke is gonna do it? It seemed like Mickey was joining them at the end of the series, but I know fen had said he was busy with other shows.

I'm not saying that report is wrong (I've no views either way), but Freeman wouldn't be the first person to fall foul of this attitude from the BBC if it's true. Though of course, the BBC will turn a blind eye if it's a BIG star.

I think Noel will probably do it, Mickey would be well suited to joining the team and Noel is more than able to act the pants off anyone else in that series. He could easily breathe fresh new life into it. Hopefully he'll take some (more) writing duties as well, goodness knows the writing team needs a swift kick up the bum.
As for Freema, it's a shame. But I don't blame her for joining (switching, whatever), as Torchwood is a still terrible show and the L&O franchise is a great one to tie your boat to. If it was one or the other, she made the right choice and TW will have to suffer the loss. Hopefully she'll find her acting groove again as she lost it after appearing in TW
