Doctor Who silence in the library - beware! SPOILERS!

for those who want spoilers, dont do it. best episode in season 5 is well worth waiting for i think.

needless to say i enjoyed it, and cant wait for 2nd part.

here be spoilers

so yes, what thought everyone else?

i think the tension they found in Blink and the one with the gasmasks is making a bit of a return. reminds me muchly of the book 'Prey' by micheal Crichton (a good read)

as for the little girl, i think this may be a tacked-on bit of the script to give the plot a back door to escape through...

was worrying for a bit, but the idea that donna might have gone (woo) and the girl who knows him could be a future assistant thrills me.

Missed it tonight (had my dad and brother over, as one on their bedroom ceilings had collapsed through a water leak), so I'll have to catch it Sunday on BBC3.

You know why you're mentioning Blink and Empty Child when you watch this?  It's because it's been written by Steven Moffat.  Who wrote both of those other three episodes you've mentioned.  I already knew this two parter would be amongst the best of the episodes, cause he's the finest writer on staff.  (He also wrote all of Coupling).

And here's the best part.  The BBC announced last month that he will be taking over from Russell T Davies as head writer and executive producer for the fifth series.

I've been calling for that to happen since the second series and it's finally happened.  Hooray!

Excellent news!

Adding to the above - anyone else find the 'ghosting' a creepy idea? Maybe I just thought about it too much, but it gave me the willies.

Best episode of the season so far.  While Who is still one of the best things around, this series has had a pretty slow start.  Loved the library though.
Dark Lord

So pissed! We just DVR'd Doctor Who on friday because we were gonna be out of town but there thunderstorms and apparently the power went out...during both broadcasts!!

And here's where I get really mad- I deleted both partials and then realized that one was the last 20 minutes and the other was the first 45!!

So I missed the part 2 of the Sontaran episode, and I love Sontarans!    And Sci-fi channel will not rebroadcast it, I have to wait for it to be on PBS, or to buy the DVD.

Anyway, just letting you guys know I'm dumb and pissed (not drunk) but I'm not reading this thread because I don't want to know about the Doctor's daughter or anything like that.

Oh and I miss martha jones, even if she did pine for the Doctor too much. At least she was way hot and not a pretentious judgemental woman (who sucks as a comic too)...I swear to God I will stop watching if they make the two of them romantically involved like they have with Martha and Rose!

Doctor's daughter was the best episode this series, only partly because one of the actors was HOT

Dark Lord (and others who dont know) if you have a UK IP address then you can use the BBC iplayer to watch any program (including Dr Who) up to 7 days after it was last broadcasted. Several of the programs are available to download (dunno about Dr Who) so if you miss one like that then it might be worth sending one of us on the better side of the channel a PM offering beer

Here in the states, my bother has downloaded some software that will play stuff from the BBC and just uses a proxy to download the WHO.  SO I got to see library and blink this past week on his laptop.  Dunno how he does it exactly but it was a great couple of episodes.

And Ghosting is freaky.
SillySod

Thats a posibility too, if you want to use the iplayer regularly use a UK proxy to watch or download the programs rather than bugging people to download programs for you every other day
