Elfball tournament at GenConOkay its official Impact! will hold its first officially sponsered Elfball tournament at GenCon 2008.http://www.gencon.com Details: GenCon Event number: BGM0036 Sunday August 17th Maximum number of players allowed: 32 Registration: 8 am Round 1: 8:30 to 9:15 am Round 2: 9:30 to 10:15 am Round 3: 10:45 am to 11:30 am Round 4: 11:45 am to 12:30 pm Round 5: 1:30 pm to 2:15 pm Awards at 2:30 pm Supplies: Impact! will provide the event with all game boards, dice, rulebooks and reference cards needed to play. You need only bring your team. Rules: Elfball version 5.1: http://www.impactminiatures.com/Elfball/ElfBall_Rules_ver5_1.pdf Optional Elfball Rules allowed for the tournament: Impcrusher, Samhaino Horror, Orc and Rat teams Change to Challenge Dice (Stars count as 2 successes instead of conditional) Change to Face-Off rules Teams: 1) Must have at a minimum 3 colour of paint and painted bases. 2) Must be no more than 120 point teams (you may purchase Bribed Referees, Cheerleaders, and Zlurpee Kegs as part of your team but if you do they MUST be represented by painted figures) 3) Teams may be composed of figures from any company as long as the positions are easy to tell apart 4) Base ring colouring to seperate player types to speed up your game is HEAVILY encouraged! Scoring: 1) Games ends when a player scores a goal. That player receives 100 points. 2) Each game will receive a deck of cards. At the end of any of YOUR turns where you are holding the elfball you may take one card from the deck. At the end of the match if you did not win or the game is a tie you receive points equal to the number of cards you have. 3) Each player in your opponent's Recovery or Infirmary boxes AT GAME END counts for 2 points. Prizes will be awarded based soley on total points. 1st place will receive a $50 Impact! gift certificate (good anytime) 2nd place will receive a $25 Impact! gift certificate (good anytime) 3rd place will receive a $15 Impact! gift certificate (good anytime) Anyone playing in the tournament and finishing the 5th game will receive an Impact! gift certificate good for that day at GenCon only for $8 (double the cost to play in the event). Any questions ... PLEASE ask them here so that I can answer all questions about the tournament in one spot. I'm looking forward to seeing how this event works. Please keep in mind that this will be the first one and so it might need fine tuned to work smoothly. But we'll be doing everything we can to make the event fun. Please note the 45 minute time limit for games. Using the introductory/tournament rules this should work but only the players are respectiful of the time. Rounds will be allowed to start early if Jack (Mad Jackal) is ready to seat players but will finish promptly when time is up. |

Nice work on getting the demo going! I wish I could go, but alas my wife would not forgive me for blowing our vacation fund on gaming.

Very very few 1) Swinetaur added to Razorback team 2) Introductory/Tournament rules will now be part of the boxed set (this does not effect the 5.0 rulebook) 3) Updated the Dryad example as the old example had the Dryad as having a Jog stat of 5 instead of 6. 4) Change the Injury challenge so that it was clear that a player injured and sent to the Bench could not be used during the same test as a Reserve player. That's it. I'm very happy that for the most part its just polish at this point. I'm glad to see the rules be stable and the feedback we've had has been very positive. Galak |

Yeah, and if you gave people the miniatures to paint during the contest (if that would be the case) then you could have pictures for the miniatures that are still unpainted, if you know what I mean.

Question about playing the "5th game" does this mean it's an elimination tournament and some people won't be able to play 5 games or are you just talking about those who get bored and wander off? | ||||

I've always have folks leave my tournaments at GenCon (which is a pain). There is so much to do at GenCon ... you'll have folks drop out of your event if they were only playing to get a top spot and they know that is not possible. So I always try to have a reward for not dropping out of the event. Galak |

I wondered only because Steph and I have entered the Munchkin tournament. Semi finals and finals are on Sunday.
But Elfball is my priority.  But I can see her winning Munchkin...she's got no roof*.
*She's roofless!
