Fantasy Football Counters

Hi guys,

I would be interested in seeing what different ideas and concepts people could come up with as generic (i.e. not racially specific) counters that could be used to keep score, measure RR, turn counters etc.. I would also be interested to see some sculpts which we could use as tournament specials.. I'm looking for things which are normally found lying at the side of gridiron pitches, so:

a pile of helmets or pads or pom-poms

a huge bucket filled with ice and cold drinks

a basket full of footballs or gloves

first down yardage measuring sticks (sorry, don't know the real name)

line judges (yeah, OK, I mean more ref figs! )

I think these would be really fun and characterful and also affordable once cast up...

any other thoughts??

A keg!
A pile of severed limbs!
A discarded mysterious weapon! (Almost caught myself on that one.)
Darkson

A large play/rule book, for use as a RR counter.

Dunno about the feasability, but a (small) scoreboard (perhaps with generic small green humaniods).

Sausage-in-a-bun seller (any counter)

Druid wearing a wrist-sundial and holding a horn (for a turn marker) - a la Asterix in Britain.

that is a brilliant idea as a turn counter!

How about a vendor hawking beer, sticky buns, etc.?

Generic Mascot (i.e. the Philly Phanatic or San Diego Chicken)

Ticket Scalpers?

Hooligans?

Phil gave that figure to Old Man Monkey to have cast for the NAF ... we'd love to cast it ... but the NAF would have to hand it over first.

Hand it over NAF!

That would be a great idea actually. An unfortunate dismembered judge who has met his fate encountering the enraged players

Grumbledook

Would that mean that you would have to update the marker every couple of years with a new one?

If you want to make the pom-poms stand out a bit, place them next to a megaphone. That way they won't look like just two fuzzy blobs.

Fans in various poses that could when lined up look like a Mexican Wave would be fun.

What would you want on the cover of the book, and how thick?

Could also do one of those little chalk boards they draw plays on.

Stretcher team (like the Reptiliads)

A plain old bench - complete with token bench warmer;)

Waterboy :)

I would want a stack of 3 or more very thick books. What I would really want on the cover Impact wouldn't be able to do, but I would settle for 'Rulez' or 'Playbook'
Dark Lord

Goofy looking mascots!!

Crazy Chicken, a bulldog, a dragon, an eagle, a cartoony viking/celtic warrior type, and whatever else people could think of.

Maybe they could have poses with their mascot heads off.

Those are about the right size. How about those three stacked up in a pile and a forth one open propped up against them.

Actually, I guess we could leave the cover mostly blank other then some decorative details - then people could paint whatever they wanted on it.

Well, we know Jay'd paint "The Champ." Except he doesn't paint.
Justin Kase

Maybe we should make a "The Champ" score counter;)

BTW - There's something about your Avatar that is very appealing law

turn counters need to be BIG so people cant possibly forget them. i know someone who uses a rat ogre, and has to avoid knocking it over every time he moves!
Sallacious

I love the druid with a sundial watch and a blowhorn. Awesome idea!
