Gnome Contraptions (update #2)The legs for the contraptions have had casting issues and we'll need to get Alex to make new legs for the Contraptions. However we are much closer to having them finished now. We have 3 torsos, 3 cockpit, and the arms now finished and cast up along with the speciality arms (bazooka, boxing glove, hammer, buzzsaw).
On a brighter note ... all the pieces for the Impcrusher cast up just fine and he should be in our store next week! I'll try to get one put together and post a picture.

So another casting issue....  I am really looking forward to buying my copy of elf ball, but want to wait on the contraptions. Any ideas on when we might see a team?

Trust me ... we want to get the contraptions into the store.
I spent 30 minutes on the phone with the caster which is the same caster that casts the Battlemechs. So he gave me a lot of good advice for things that we could do to try and save the legs.
We both sat at our desks and tried different things with pinning and glue and I even tried drilling out the legs and putting magnets in them to let me bond even stronger to the body. None of it worked.
I wish we could have come up with something as now we have $4000 worth of contraption pieces that we cannot sell until we get new legs. So we'll be trying to get new good legs as soon as we can.
However even with that in mind we are probably not going to be able to have the Contraptions in the store now until late December I would guess.

Thanks for the update. I wish you the best with that. I am really hoping to make elfball and the gnomes and gnolls my x-mass gift from my wife (we basically pick out our own gifts then thank the other).

We'll do our best to make this goal for you.
I have the Impcrusher put together ... he's cool!
I just need to get a camera so I can get a picture of him.

Hmmm ... cannot find memory card for camera ... sigh ... will need to wait for the wife to get home with our other camera.
Okay so coming out next week since the Contraptions need redone will be the following offerings:
Impcrusher
Minotaur (Targeted)
Swinetaur (Targeted)
Unfortunately ... that's going to be it for this batch until we can get new legs for the Contraptions. Ouch $4k spent and that's all we can release .... wow ... didn't really hit me until I put it in writing. The other major piece of this castings is a big set of limited edition figures ... but we won't be able to sell off the extra of those until next year. So I have a whole bunch a metal coming that I guess I'll use a very expensive door stop for a while.

If you have a swinetaur, could it be used for the razorbacks as a optional rule monster? That could make the razorbacks a little more interesting...

Oh man... do casters not offer any insurance when they cast stuff for you? Are the legs totally unuseable? If you have another batch to go does it cost extra to get another item put in if there is the room?
And what do you do with the excess metal?, as this happened with the contraptions before
Im sure Alex is gutted too  its never nice to see your own work destroyed he is coming on in leaps and bounds with his sculpting!
Ill paint up the contraptions free of charge, for when I buy my Gnome team if you want to use it in the shop!
Im also still thinking about writing up an ElfBall game report, with pictures and stuff, but I still have to get my Gnolls finished (75% of one mini done!) and I also have to teach my brother the rules

I'm thinking about it.
I just printed up a bunch of rulebooks and I'm not sure I want to mess with the rules for this yet.
Maybe in the future the Razorback roster could be modified to be a bit more interesting. I have some ideas.

We'll need to pay for a new master mould and 2 new production moulds so an extra $270 USD in costs for when we get the new legs.

Rejected castings caught before shipping out are just thrown back into the molten metal pot to become a different new figure (white metal is totally recycable).

Agreed. We haven't heard from Alex yet ... really hoping to hear from him soon.

Fen has been dying to paint these guys up when we get them in and he called dibs first ...

let me know if there is loads of stuff and fen says he cant do it all, then ill do the surplus for free, fen is a quality painter :)
when i win the lottery (have to start buying tickets ) after friends and family, and my band, impact will be next on the list  i can be impacts sugar daddy call me... "slow man bra on a witch" people who dont watch Chelsea FC may not get that ;)
tell your wife to get home pronto as i want to see these pics of the impcrusher too! :)

any news on Alex and the legs?
Thinking about asking my wife to get me a gift certificate so I will be able to buy myself the gnome team when the contraptions and packaged deal finally arrives on Impact's site. (that and I can't pass up the extra 10% in stuff, that was a good idea from y'all at impact)

The torso went in the mail to him 2 days ago. They will probably arrive in about 7 to 10 days from that point. Then he has his sculpting time and getting the new legs back to us. I'm hopeful to get the Contraptions in the store for by the end of the year but I would say getting them in the store during November is not going to happen.

I'm confused, am I brownrob or is he me? All I do know is I prefer one of the painting styles we paint in over the other.
Sorry to hear about the issues with the contraptions, that sucks and I guess it has a delaying effect on other releases as well.

Biggest reason for the Holiday Sale is the legs not casting up well means we have 2k GBP worth of casting bills (for the other contraption pieces) and no product to sell in the store. We were kinda counting on the Contraption sales to cover the cost of casting them before the credit card bill became due. That's not going to happen now so alternative measures have been taken!

Now that you have the impcrusher posted, can we expect contraptions to be similiarly priced? I am looking forward to seeing the contraptions done and being able to purchase them.
This weekend I will talk to my buddy and we will see what we can do about putting an order together for some minis to help with the casting costs. (that and I can't pass up a deal like +10% in goods)
I also really like the look of the Street Brawl Dwarfs. But I will probably be tapped out for a while after the gnomes.
