You really need to stop pointing out these mini's to me. My credit card is on fire
Father

I got my order in today, the resin cast female Ogre is awsome, I've never seen detail like that in a non metalic mini. the resin cast comes out very clean looking, perhaps better than the metal mini's even.
I don't know anything about production costs for resin but have you guys looked into it?

NO WAY!

I'll tell you why I say this.

Resin is brittle ... several Michelles ended up arriving broken (including the one that I ordered). I also thought I understood that resin was not as easy to paint as metal (someone correct me if I'm misspeaking on this).

But if for no other reason than the brittleness I'm not interested. As for detail. I didn't find the detail that much different better than Ewan's Ice Troll which costs 11 Euros in metal compared to Michelle's cost of 19 Euros ... (yes you get a Goblin but Impact!'s price on a Goblin sized player would normally be around 2.75 Euros). So in this case for a higher cost you get a more brittle material. I'm NOT bashing Goblin Forge ... like I said ... I gladly was one of the first to purchase Michelle ... I just don't understand how Michelle demonstrates that resin is a good medium for miniatures.

Good to know, I'll let you know how painting her works out, not that I'm a pro or anything.

If the cost is higher it's definetly not worth it, I was just surprised by the detail.
Torpor

Of the four Goblinforge Ogresses that I ordered, three arrived broken. All had broken left feet and loincloths. I will not be purchasing anything resin via the post again after that experience. No thank you.

wow, guess I was lucky to have mine in such good shape then.
White Elk's Peyote Rattle

Mine arrived in Great Shape, all the way to the US even: I count myself lucky..

I must say, I was kind of disappointed in the Pewter figs included in the 2005Deal. The Prat-falling Goblin Kicker is nice to have, but the two versions of "Mr. Hero" (Fantasy and 'Real Life') were...ah...not that interesting to me.

Having said that: I _LOVE_ Micheline. She is fast becoming my Favorite FF fig of all time (Tied with Hasslefree's 'Kalee') and I haven't even Painted her yet...
Father

Micheline is going to be the center piece of the Ogre team I am putting together using the imps from this site as snots.
I will likely fill out the team with Heresy deathball Ogres, anyone have any other suggestions?

If I recall correctly, Mr Goblin Forge said that Micheline would have been far more expensive to cast in metal. He chose resin just for price purposes.
He was really worried about the incidents of posting and so changed the package of this mini.

I did notice that my micheline came inside a plastic bag, inside a plastic case, inside a bubble padded shipping envelope. Maybe it's not such a surprise it arrived intact
Snew

I dunno. France to me. Me to the painter. Painter back to me. Portland, OR to Tampa, FL. Played a tourney where everyone had to pick her up and oggle her curves. Tampa, FL to Phoenix, AZ. Phoenix, AZ to Portland, OR all with no more protection than my other minis and she's still fine.

I do mean FINE! Oohh la la!

I have 3 or 4 broken MR. Bubbles though so I do believe I may be living on borrowed time. Anything is pinable of repairable though so use what you like and I'd definately use Michelline anytime I could. She's that nice!

Nope. Heresy DB Ogres are the way to go. I look forward to seeing the team! Check out my Heresy Ogres and Impact! imps in the Gallery section. They go well together.

Depends on what look you're looking for. The heresy ogres will definetly be more dynamic, but don't fit the comedic look of Micheline imo. Depending on your converting skills, the plastic Grandma Wendy Ogre Kingdom ogres could (there were 2 great Ogre teams at the fantasy football this year).

Guess it depends on the look and cost you want, and what your skill level is.

Thanks for the tip Darkson, I hadn't considered conversions. Your right, the Ogre kingdom models fit with Micheline very nicely. Unfortunately the price of those Ogres and the time to do the conversions means this has just become a BIG project for me I was hoping to have the team done by fall so I could use them in a tournament. oh well, there is always next year...
Chairface

I don't think that converting WF Ogres will take all that much effort.

Check out this guy from Boothdom on TBB:

http://www.talkbloodbowl.com/phpB...ic.php?t=18131&highlight=ogre

He's elegant and really all that Boothdom has done is clip the weapons off. Now you CAN convert the heck out of these guys if you want. This is my favourite team from the Fantasy Football: (I wasn't there but I love seeing the pictures)

Now, with all of that being said, I do prefer the Heresy Ogres. Converting them is no trouble at all.
fen

Converting the Grandma Wendy ogres is an easy job, they're pratically unarmed anyway. Painting them is a lot more work.

They're a pleasure to convert up, but I'll be damned if I'm ever painting them. :P

Isn't that always the case? Too many minis, too little time.
Norse

agreed, I still only have one finished Ogre, and no where near as good or funny as the clowns above, but I still like "Old" Zeb Walton of the Hicksville Inbreds..

Chairface

Oh! I forgot about him! Thats a fantastic mini.
Norse

You?

forgot about an online mini?

I don't believe it..
Darkson

And imo, the Clowns weren't the best Ogre team at the FF(but I don't seem to have any pics off the winners).

Must see if I can fix my camera...
Chairface

I dunno. I think that the killer klowns are absolutely fantastic. It dosn't get more interesting and original than that. I think there are some pics of the "Globetrotter" team on TBB. I'll check when I get home.
Chairface

Here they are:

I agree which Chairface. My aim is to pull the best of the best together going forwards so I have done so here!

If I didn't think the PBBL imp, sorry, Ogre team was so crap, I'd be interested in that deal. I agree they do look good together.

That was a good idea Jason.

Your price is pretty much in line with Grandma Wendy's as well. Grandma Wendy's price for 6 Ogres, 10 Snotlings, and Brick+Grotty would be 58 GBP ... so a good comparable price (and you don't need to convert the Snotlings in your item )
