Impact Case ModsHi all and Merry Christmas (well a day late)...
I got a case for Christmas (thanks Mom). These things are just perfect for FF team.
I just wanted to mention 2 small mods I did to my case (well the metal plate) that I haven't seen mentioned here before. It worked out really good for me so I thought it might help someone else.
Of course as soon as I got it I had to pull it apart to see how it was made. (damn engineers can't leave nothing alone :) I noticed the corners of the metal plate were digging in to the case a bit (just from shipping, travel etc.). So a trip over to the sander and those guys got rounded off. Then to make it "finger safe" (I don't know why, I'll never have it out again) I ran electrical tape aroun the outside edge. This made the plate fit nice and snug (not that it didn't before but I think it is better now).
I'm throwing my Orc team in this case. So for a troll I use the Ripper Bolgrot model from Grandma Wendy. I was having problems with old Ripper fitting in his square because of the metal plate. My solution was to trace the big guy foam square with a sharpie and then have at it with my dremel. I cut the metal plate out just in the big guy area so my troll would lay on the soft foam below. It worked out nifty. I also cut the 4 "pull-out" foam pieces in the shape of the troll and now it is just perfect in the case. The fig is 100% supported and can't shift anywhere and the paint won't get scratched from laying on a metal plate.
Hope these 2 ideas help someone else. It really took the fit and function of my case to the next level. Just an excellent product really.
Now I have to get 2 more for the 2 new teams the Wife bought me for Christmas :)
