Impact! Swinetaur

Somewhat delayed but here it is.

Tomorrow I'll put up a three quarters shot as the head is a little out of focus in this picture due to the depth of the model and my camera focusing on the wrong part.
Rabid_Bogscum

to be honest I dont Love him
fen

Wow, this silence says it all.

Well I guess you'll all be happy to know that this is the last model I've been asked to paint for Impact! and probably the last model you'll see painted from me as I'm devoting my painting energies towards completing my Necromunda collection and as it's near 300 models I won't have time for anything else.

Anyway, I'll leave you with this final set of shots.

That is a shame Fen, I must say I look forward to seeing the new releases when you paint them as I think you always do an excellent job. Hopefully you will get your necromunda lot finished real soon!

Just to be clear ... its because of Fen's schedule that we've not sent him any more ... no other reason.

I really appreciate Fen's help getting some great painted images for our site!

Yes, I should have been clear on that.  I'm unable to commit to getting Impact! stuff painted up as fast as they deserve to have it painted.  As such I wasn't doing as good a job as I could and combined with a massive university work load I've spiralled off into a complete funk and right now I can't even manage to paint anything for myself.  I was rather proud of the paint job on this Swinetaur (simple but pretty) considering the problems I've had, so the reaction was less than... inspiring.  *shrug*

Painting for Impact! has been nothing but good on their part.  They've been brilliant and if anything I feel I let them down as I should have done it all better and faster.

As such I'm putting all my paints away for a few weeks minimum and then reassessing what my painting priorities are.  Maybe going back to painting landscapes for a while or something.

Regardless I can't speak enough praise for Impact! they've been brilliant.

Fen ... no one commented on multiple hours of my work on the Elfball tournament either.

So I wouldn't take the lack of comments as a bad sign ... probably more that folks are actually travelling to see family for the Easter holiday.

I'm very happy with the paint job ... think you did a good job on the horns and giving it a different look from the other 2 Hausiens.

I think he looks great.  A truly different flavour to monsters.  Good work Fen and hope all goes well with what ever you paint next.  I have been waiting to see this guy for a while.  Makes me want to try the razorbacks and find a reason for this mini.

Too bad I am tapped out for cash for a while.

Its a good job fen, I would have posted earlier but for workmen killing the phonelines for the entire drive for 3 days, and the boss not being so hot on mini painting forums at work!     This CD we are making with my band is eating chunks out of my time too!

Its a nice paintjob, I like the work on the loincloth, and the front part that covers his bits You have made some nice skintones, it must be pretty frikkin sweet in the flesh as I know you have eternal struggles with that camera!   Fur is tough to get right, but you have done an excellent job!

I think what I didnt like about the first pic was the angle of the shot, it looked a little flat, there was little depth to the face (which is the firt thing i look at with a mini) but the second set of pictures, while not showing off all the nice work you did, has a better angle

Hopefully you will still be on MSN sometime so you can keep help me improve with my painting!

Fen - Love the paint job. Not a model I will be buying but cool none the less.

I would have posted sooner, but my computer is in the spare room and the in-laws have been visiting their new grandson over the weekend and so I had no access.

Also, I hope that as you complete Necromunda stuff you will be adding it to you blog. I like seeing your work. You have a clean and crisp style that is not overly busy from too much detail. This is actually the style I try for and fail with pretty much every mini I paint!

As always the paintjob is fantastic fen.

For some reason tho, I just don't dig this head on that body. I love the cyclops, and the minotaur...but this just doesn't do it for me.

Fen, I would be very interested in seeing some of your 2D paintings if that's what you were referring to with "landscapes."

PM me if you have some samples I can view online.

EDIT: Ya know I'd still be interested in buying the head for a different body (Gnashrack perhaps)

Does IMpact sell bitz?

Nice work, Fen.  Like others here, I've always enjoyed your style and have looked forward to seeing your take on the new figs -- best of luck with your other endeavors.  My lack of comment until now was due to waiting to see the other angle; while I could already see in the first shots you'd done your usual fine job, the figure itself was new -- and therefore more of what I wanted to comment on -- but as you already knew, the initial shots didn't flatter it.  The new shots allay the fear I'd shared with brownrob, in that it looked too flat at first.  Now, with the benefit of the new shots, I can say that it looks good all around, both the painting and the sculpt on the new head.

It was a great job Fen, and as usual I'm jealous that mine look like puke compared to that.  My silence is real life has taken a hold and won't let go.  I don't look to have much "free" time untill after July 4th.  I barely get on to read then off to do the work I'm suppose to be doing.  Which is what is going to happen now.  Tah Tah!  :-)
Stout Youngblood

Great job, as usual. Will definitely miss your work on the site. Good luck.
Rabid_Bogscum

Sorry Fen I should qualify my statement as well. I'm not a big fan of the miniature, I am a big fan of your painting however and can't wait to see your Necromunda collection as you show it. Which lucky painter gets the Siringits to paint?
Mephisto

Fen, I think that the fact we don't have posted anything here is because as it is stated here, we don't like the model, nothing to do with your paintjob. So don't take it personal. You are a great painter and it is good to see the impact  miniatures painted in the way you do.
Dan Titan

Great Job Fen! Please keep us posted with your necromunda stuff (I love necromunda) and who knows... maybe the "drak side" will lure you back in the future
