Just brought Elfball and i can't wait to try it.

Just sold some Hell dorado stuff to buy the elfball pack and i'm really looking forward to playing this game. If have downloaded the rule book and got loys of questions but i hope most will be answered when i start playing.

Of course from a FF back ground some things will be same but as a gamer that plays many different systems for many different genre's i hope will pick it up fast(wow i can pass twice or more in one turn and poss not need to make a catch roll)

And the turn around time on getting the stuff to the UK means that it will be a nice suprise when i turns up.

hooray for new games!

Hey welcome!

I look forward to giving you incorrect answers to your questions.

Make a post in the "Other Games" section about the "many different systems for many different genre's" that you play, because I love talking about games!

I have the street brawl pitch as well, and played it with the fantasy football rules which was much fun, but i see they have it as a download with the elfball style of rules. Might give that a go while i'm waiting.

Ok when i put my order in i understood that it will take some time for the product to get to me in the UK as it will be shipped from the states. But to stop me from sitting under my letterbox each moring is there any chance someone at Impact could let me know if its been ship or when its been shipped.

I understand that it's not part of the service, but i'm driving my wife nuts going on about the game and she keeps saying "I bet its not even on its way yet". As you know, wives are always almost right.

Many Thanks

at the moment items from the states are taking a long time to get to the uk. i ordered a few things, completely unrelated to ff, and the waiting time seems to be between 3 and 5 weeks from shipping date.

This probably doesn't help, but just so you know that you're not alone lol

Just to be clear, its not a gripe, it was clear when i brought the items how long they would take to turn up. I'm just hoping someone could give me a wink when they are in the post.

I'm up to date on my shipments of Elfball games as far as I know.

When exactly did you order the game?

I created 20 of the boxed sets and shipped them out for all outstanding orders on April 20th.  Did you order after that?

It was the 29th of april.

Your order shipped out on the 4th.  It takes a couple weeks for shipments to arrive from the USA to the UK.

OK got my first game in on Friday night Vs pigstar, now piggy isn't that open to new games so he prob wasn't the best player to play, also he's very FF.

But with all that aside we had a good game, the game play got a bit samey but as we both said it was our first game, more seasoned Elfballers would of prob he a good laugh at us. We used the two teams out of the box.

When i say samey i mean the ball carrier just kept on being knocked down in the middle of the park. The only real question that came up was with subs, can you stand a guy in the end zone circle only to get him off the pitch and then bring him back on from the subs bench the next turn? And also we didn't do one shove! and i thought that it would be used alot?

Got my second game in last night, i know it's took a while but well worth it, alot of the mechanicals of the game became more apparent, also the coach i played was less bashie then piggy and is a game designer as well.

We hope to get more games in with different team then the two in the box set.

Ok, you'll have to bear with me. It has been 6 months or more since I last played. Elfball requires you to set up a bit down the pitch, taking out key defenders and keeping the ball in your backfield until you have a scoring position. Personally, I much prefer the optional rule with two players per activation but that is just me.

Shoving is very handy for building momentum or clearing a lane. If your opponent is blocking the goal and you want to score, you might consider shoving his defender into the goal circle (ejecting that player) and then scoring, or shoving the ball carrier before tackling. That way you have a little momentum on your side before you go for the take down. Momentum can be the difference between "both down" and "crippling hit". :)
