Noob Tactics

Just got my nice new copy of Elfball. Have played the other game since 2nd ed 20 years ago. Is there any tips for noobs to Elfball? I can see it is very different and I'm probably going to have to forget all I have learned, tactically with the other system. So has anybody written any good post's on good way's to start?
