Norse belatedly and charitably presents...

Hi guys,

as some of you may recall, at the end of 2007 I donated a couple of painted teams for a good cause (a small boy in need of hearing aids).  I am not normally known for my warmth and charity, so I'll admit I was drunk when I posted...

Anyway, one of the largest donations was from GrumpyGrizzly, who commissioned me to paint a Black Rock team (donated by Impact!) in the spirit of his alma mater - Oregon State.

So, after a very long 18 months    I can finally present GG's Black Rock Beavers..  without doubt the last commission I will ever accept!

all stripes, chequers, numbers and beavers were painted by free-hand..

oh yeah, BIG PICS  8)

yay orange!!! :)

so 18 months... I think that rivals my time to paint :)

very nice looking team. very cool.

Great stuff there Norse, you seem to have upped your game in the last while :) I think this is better than your Middle Kingdoms

Super job, anyone would be proud to own such a wonderful team

my MK paint job was speed painting at it's worst.. max 1 hour per mini..

these guys I painted as if I was keeping them for myself - around 6-8 hours per model..  free-hand beavers don't come easily you know..

Hey these look great. Fantastic painting on great scultps. I do even like the black and orange scheme.

I do have a question though. It might be the lighting. It might be my dimensia, or who knows?

But looking at the Dwarven Centaurs, they both have an 8 painted on thier front quarters and one 35 and the other 5 on the  hindquarters ?

What is that about?

That's not an 8 ... its a B for the Beavers (the team name).

Never thought I would ask this Norse, but is it too late to take a close up of your beavers?
GrumpyGrizzly

Thank you very much Norse. I can't believe that I got you to actually paint Benny the Beaver onto any members of this team. You did quite a nice job of it too Cheques too, I really wish mine turned out any where near as good. Must have been beer involved to get you to agree.

This team is in honor of the greatest moment in OSU football history - Fiesta bowl 2001. After almost 30 years as one of the worst teams in the country, we finally managed to go to a big game. My friends and I managed to get the money together and traveled to AZ. It was huge, crazy, and is still one of the best memories I have of being together with my friends and my wife. Well what I can remember of it after the beer

The numbers on the players are actual numbers worn by the OSU team that won that day. Norse was kind enough to put them on the right figures

I really appreciate the work that Norse did on this. I have a little display area all ready for them. Each time I look at this team, I will get mugged walking down memory lane to 2001. Thank you.

Well as someone once said...your style of painting photographs well

I am not partial to the black rocks but these look really good. Nice job Picasso.
