The story of Motty...
So, just after Impact! was founded the partners (and there were a few more of us then than now) were throwing around ideas about cool models to make.. and I came up with the figs below.. I reckoned they would be a great addition to just about any coaches sideline collection.. a useful reminder at crucial times in a game.. that kind of thing...
Fubar agreed to very fair rates to do the sculpting (thanks Mike!) and did a basic green which he sent to our then CEO - he who shall remain nameless. That muppet then posted the green to Tom without insurance, the parcel never arrived and we had nothing to show for it but a sculpting bill and not much else...
However those of you who know me probably know I can be a little tenacious when it suits me (OK, like a rabid puppy with a slipper, move on!) so I contacted a somewhat reluctant Fubar again to do another green.. after much persistence, we got our second green.. this one arrived perfectly.. everything on track until the casting company cast 220 of him instead of the 20 we had asked for.. if any of you ever wondered why on earth Impact! sold a limited edition goblin commentator in a pair of Y-fronts last year, now you know why.. I believe Bob Ross would have called it a "happy little accident"..
So, we sell 200, ship 16 to Mike and 4 to me for me to have some fun with.. over the next 6 months Mike converts, remodels, cuts, converts and generally tries to avoid pestering e-mails from a tenacious little guy like me.. and, only 18 months later than hoped for, we finally had our collection, and only just in time for this year's T5.. phew!

Motty the Goblin....
it's a perfect day for a ball-game and Motty has been asked to commentate on the last game of the season.. what an honour! he quickly pulls on his best bib and tucker in case he gets to meet some royalty after the game.. shame about that tie though.. 
what looked like a great day quickly turned nasty.. heavy thunder clouds have poured their contents all over the pitch.. the game is almost a wash-out... monsoon season anyone??
Motty hates those games in the grim Northern wastes.. not only is the travel a nightmare, but the fans are all hooligans.. this bunch not only pelted the poor goblin with snowballs all game, but at half time they rolled him up just for fun.. at least they left him with a nice warm hat...
wow, what a day! if only Motty had thought to stand with his back to the sun to watch this match.. what an idiot! Now he can barely see what is going on! I wonder if goblins get sunburn??
Motty hates the games in the deep south even more.. it's so humid, all he can do is strip down to his birthday suit, collapse in a comfy seat and hope no one takes the pitch to play..
the T5 set (limited to 200 castings) should be in the store over the weekend all being well... get a set before they sell out.. please!
in addition to the limited T5 set, we will also be adding this version to our store as a general release model.. as you can tell, Fubar did all the hard work, but the sheepskin coat and Lancashire cap were sculpted by none other than me.. wow, my first ever commercial sculpt!!.. coom by Shep, coom by!

I do have some ideas that I hope to be able to reveal around their release.
We hope early next year to come out with Weather Dice for Elfball so it might take a bit to get the rules firmed up ... but it is planned.

I'm really pleased by the reaction - there were times when I wondered if this was just a pipedream for me or if others would actually like the end result...

I think they're great. The idea if a reporter mini representing the weather is hilarious. And the sheepskin jacket and cap is just too funny.

I really like the idea of a mini to represent the weather. Such a simple idea once you see it, but someone I never thought about it. These little dudes will find a new home once the money becomes available.

there are still sets left and they should be in the store this week..
get 'em quick though - there were only 200 sets cast up and after GenCon and T5, probably only around another 100 or so sets available..
