About you...who are you and where are you going?

Me? I'm an amateur sculptor who paints minis a bit and basically, I renovate houses in my spare time (a precious commodity these days...) Apparently in the USA I'm a 'flipper' no, not the dolphin.

And now, where am I going? I'm going to bed - have you seen the time?
Tritex

Cannot remember where I have been, Unsure where I am now and certainly don't know what the future holds!!! Hmmm need to get a grip on life!!
Bodhi

Hello. I'm working on a female vampire elfballplayer. Perhaps something for the "undead" team (along with the deadlings)? I'll send it in as soon as it is done and we'll see what happens. Size is 33 mm to top of head. Hope that's about right?
I'm an amateur who has recently made the transition to getting quite a few commisions. So I'll hope that you'll like what I'm sculpting for you.

I paint sometimes, been trying to sculpt a bit and happy to be along for the ride....
Dark Lord

I'm Eric. I've been hooked on games since I was a wee little boy. I own more games than I will ever have time to play. Dungeon Crawls are my favs!!!

I'm an fine art major/art history minior working towards a masters (at least) and I love to draw and paint. I paint minis too and love to convert. I'm thinking of trying my hand at sculpting...I'm pretty good with clay so maybe I can work with green stuff.

Doing some boards for Impact's Elf Ball and hoping to bully Ewan into accepting my BMSX system.

Don't have many minis to show off. Most are just painted to table standard but here's a few.

Wait, wrong forum!

I'm an old-time RPG'er, who moved into Wargames when his RPG buddies moved away, which means I perfer story-telling games to "fair" games, which means I have deep-seated issues with the "fair and balanced" nature of PBBL (B)loodbowl, and not sure wheter I'll want to play Elfball or not.

I hate painting figs, though I'm happy to buy them, and I couldn't care less wheter they're painted to a great standard or not, as long as I can get them on the tabletop.
antipixi

I'm antipixi! So named for my evil grin when things go wrong and my habit of sitting cross-legged. (It was a university thing!)

I like painting, but since all of the stuff in the gallery puts my work to shame, don't expect any pics in a hurry!

I have become a renewed FF junkie over the last year or so and I'm coming close to seeking help! But all the pretty miniautres are calling me and telling me that I don't need help and that they will be my friends!

Oh and is it wrong that I got aroused by the pic of DL's sis !!
Father

I missed this thread or I would have posted sooner...

I'm Father and I'm a gameaholic.
I've been playing since I was a wee pup, I grew up in a house where board games were family entertainment (still are, playing games with my family at christmas is still my favorite thing to do).
From that background I moved to rpg's, and then to wargaming. I'm am not a great painter and play for the challenge, painting is secondary. My high elf team went unpainted for over a decade until the PBBL reignited my interest. My favorite game of all time is Necromunda though oddly I don't play it anymore...

I am currently doing my best to convince everyone that a pirate game will be the next "big thing"

'Cause pirates are, of course, way cooler than ninjas.

Seriously, I love the idea of a pirate skirmish - level game. Especially if it starts out with the two ships approaching and canister and grapeshot whizzing through the air while the pirates slop water across the decks to keep the risk of fire down and severed masts skewering a few unfortunates as it comes crashing to the deck; the pirate captains barking orders at the crew and everyone motivated by the massive haul of loot they're going to be taking in if they survive.

I'd only truly love it if there were a mechanism for advancement, though. (keep the crew who live, get better ships/weapons, you understand.)

Of course, with an undead crew, a pirate game would be looking at the IP of another maniacal corporation's lawyers. cest la vie.
Xtreme

Make them Monkey Pirates and you are ok. The three coolest things in the world are
Monkeys
Pirates
and Ninjas
So combine two of them and you have to have a winner right?

How about an oriental theme?

There were pirates in the orient too...AND NINJAS!

Plus Chinese sails are cool!

Or you could do a fantasy thing like Pirates of Dark Water. I don't mean copy their style exactly but just create your own style.

There ARE quite a lot of pirates in the orient now. Nothing very romantic about them though, but they would probably make some nice sculpts as well.
With a classic chinese or korean pirate mixing the ninja bit in isn't all hat hard or strange looking really.

Chinese Junks are way cool...

I'm Stefan from good old Germany and an old RP- and Tabletopgamer for more than 20 years now. I started with Fantasy Football Games with the 2nd FF-Edition in 1987. Now my kids are playing Fantasy Football too, so the next generation was born! I have collection of nearly 420 Fantasy Football Minis and I'm still searching for new one.
Tomba

I'm Tom and I'm usually going nowhere fast.

Played FF since 1993 and am painfully moderate at painting. And playing the bloody game, come to that.

I enjoy it nontheless, though.

Oh, my claim to fame is that I came dead last in the first fantasy football tournament.

Right now? I'm off to work.

I realize that i didnt introduce myself.

My name is Ibai and Im Basque, spanish if you wish :p.

I knew Grandma Wendy 9 years ago in the "sunny" Brighton where i went to learn some english. Next year i went to Dartford and finally start playing fantasy football.

Since that i joined a club in my zone to start playing a League and after that i start playing RPGs and more card games, not collectibles.

Now im 24 years old and finishing my Engineer Degree, expect on March. After that i wanna go somewhere in Europe or North America to work for half a year before i start a Master.

Also, my club mates and i started playing Warmaching 3-4 months ago and we are really focused on that.

In the last year i tryed to improve my painting technique and i think im achiving a good level, not GD but enough to win some FF tourney's painting contest.

See you over there!

I learned a lot since i visit www.spanish-team.com forum. But i still need to be more patient. And for sure, im not going to make enormous efforts on the FF teams cause they scratch really easy.

Hello, my name is Elvis and I am a compulsive liar.

Seriously though, I am Daniel, I have invested the last few years of my life in getting a completely worthless Master's degree; my "other" pastime is writing.
I have recently moved in with my gf and she doesn't even let me strip minis in the house. I had to buy a whole new set of cutlery because I used a little fork to sculpt chaos dwarf beard-locks. When I settle in for an evening's job of some painting or converting, she wants to go to bed early and turn off the light.. I'm not getting anything done. Also, I suck at sculpting faces.

Also also, pirates are way, way cooler than ninjas. Or did y'all ever hear about a "talk like a ninja day"?
Hoomin_erra

WHO LET THE DOG IN!!!

WHO! WHO! WHO! WHO!

Just tell the GF that painting and sculpting is actually saving money, and letting her see more of you. Otherwise you'd be out every night getting pissed with yer mates.

True dat. Still, it's the first time I'm not living alone - it's kind of like a dress rehearsal for things to come. Last week I hid some of her CDs - hid them well. I could have raised Cain about her horrible music - a thing she likes to do when I "pump up the volume" - but I'm a coward. I like to avoid conflict, take a deep breath, not get upset.
Joemanji

A lot of women act like that because they want you to argue back dude. They like the conflict, and try to create it by telling you what to do. Give her the argument she wants and she will be happy to let you do what you want. Plus good sex.

True. Very true. My favourite is when mine asks "what are you thinking?" I'm staring into space, apparently looking deep in thought, when I'm thinking either a) nothing or b) what colour scheme would look good on my Beer Garden Beauty? and she gets upset when I wisely say "nothing". They really can't grasp the concept of nothing.
Joemanji

I always turn that right back on them. "Well, what are you thinking then?". They don't like that one bit.
Boondog

- "What are you thinking?"
- "Rigth now I am thinking: well, if I'd wanted a conversation, I would have addressed you."

A sure-fire way to get a nice little row into action. Yep, Joemanji, that train of thought you presented is pretty common, but I do think it's wrong. Arguments are a waste of time and energy, and arguments for argumenting's sake even more so. I do believe that no girl is actually sincerely trying to stir up antagonism - at least no girl worth going after - and that your interpretation of a behaviour - which admittedly is quite common - is somewhat mistaken. Everyday life is full of pitfalls; there are hundreds of reasons to feel a bit off and develop an urge to let it out on somebody who won't really "fight back" - much easier to start a row with me than with the boss. Yet if I don't fall for it but give in instead, she has to be more aggressive, more provoking, to actually start a row. And if she does, a simple "Hey-I-don't-want-to-fight-reaction" can defuse things and make her realize that she is actually trying to vent or redirect aggression. Much better to analyze what caused that aggression in the first case & fight the cause, not the symptom.
Even if such little everyday rows are "nothing serious" and you pretty soon make up (yes, you're right again, for many couples this does involve sex) there is a risk involved: Perhaps one goes a bit too far and in the heat of the moment says something "serious" or, heaven forbid, actually starts intending to hurt the other. And even if not, the uncomfortable memory of a situation where you've raised your voice over a trifle will remain even after you've made things up.
Sine ira et studio is an ideal I try to emulate. I give you the "provoking a fight just for make-up-again-sex" but even that is something I'm not entirely comfortable with. That's what monkeys do: relieve stress and redirect aggression by humping; it keeps the social structure of the herd intact. But I don't want to be like a monkey. I am human, the paragon of animals.

Of course, you are totally and completely right. Any rational human being would recognise that. Of course, this assumes that women are rational creatures. If you have found one that is then face it Tiger, you just hit the jackpot!

I mean this in no way as a insult against women btw. Humans are little more than monkeys that talk, and of these the males have developed a more rational mindset purely because they were called upon more often to utilise problem solving skills. Conversely the females are more emotional because they were more often called upon to be carers. Or maybe I am describing effect and cause - whatever.

I find your view of human nature positive and refreshing. It is one that I would like to hold myself. However, in practice what I see in everyday interactions between people is not rational or thoughful, but animalistic and tribal. If man is the paragon of animals, well, he is still an animal. I would also love to transcend my primal designs. However, every single physical feeling we have (hunger, pain, love, lust) is almost totally driven by genetically driven survival instincts; wholey animal instincts in fact. Everything you have ever felt in your gut comes from the animal in you. Perhaps you, like me, think that the future of the human race lies in gradually overcoming our primal roots. We are in the minority. The majority of the human race want nothing more than to wallow in their most visceral urges. Look at the world we live in.

Agreed, we have those "physical feelings" and we share them with the animals. However, the way we react to the biological/chemical signals of our body makes us different from the animals, and I say: not only different, but superior. Animals' reaction to chemical signals is instinctive. Hungry? Go eat. Tired? Go sleep. In heat? Go farg. etc. They have no choice. They cannot be blamed. They act on whatever drive is currently the strongest, and when two are equally reinforced, they do something stupid. (e.g.: certain birds either attack strange birds or run away from them, depending on the size of the other bird. When presented with a bird of just the right size that the instinct to flee and the instinct to attack are equally strong, they act on another, entirely unreinforced instinct and start picking for crumbs.)
Humans, on the other hand, have the ability to make choices. You can opt not to eat pork even though you're hungry and you certainly don't jump on a strange girl on the street just because she turns you on.
As humans, we have learned to suppress our instincts even though they would - regarding evolution - be beneficiary. There's nothing stopping me from impregnating hundreds of women in my life, and from an evolutionary point of view, this would be feasible. It becomes unthinkable only regarding the implications of civilization. I do think that civilization depends on suppressing instincts. In return, we get science, written language, philosophy, art, space travel and digital watches. I see all that in the world that surrounds me. Of course, I also do see people who disregard their potential as human beings and reduce themselves to a base state of existence. MY choice of vocabulary here implies that I allow myself the vice of feeling superior to them. I also think that every bum who's solely acting on instinct, every joe shmoe who drags himself through a dreary existence secretly yearns for another life, not one of greater comfort and luxury, but one of deeper and profounder interest and understanding. And I do believe that everyone is capable of enhanciung himself. I try to do that every day. And I want my tombstone to read:

Hier starb einer, welcher an die Menschheit glaubte
Er war dümmer als die Polizei erlaubte.

(here lies one who believed in mankind
he was stupider than the police permitted [a German idiom meaning "thick as a brick])
Coneman

Hi all

I am Coneman from Down Under,
I got this nickname from the crazy people at the skydiving club because I always have some nice herbs for the night time festivities.
Note: not while actually skydiving, this would be a blast but highly dangerous and stupid, hanging under a parachute at 10,000 feet on sunset is pretty good though.

I am a single father with 1 son who is 9 1/2.
I dont drink alcohol, I guzzle it like there will be no tommorow.
I work from home as a Data Base programmer.
I do volunteer work at my sons school when needed.

I dont really play games, the occasional D&D skirmish with my son and his friends, they dont really like me playing because I pick up on all their non rule compliance. But they are only young and are slowly starting to follow the rules more. I get to play when they want to learn more of the rules.

I started painting miniatures a few years ago when I saw Rackhams Sophet Drahas, he screamed "BUY ME AND PAINT ME", since then I have bought more minis than I have painted, but I am slowly working my way through them.
I have ear marked some of my earlier work for stripping and repainting.
I have no set theme to the minis I paint or collect, they just have to be nice minis, although I do have a pile of skeletons for a graveyard and a pile of females for a harem.

I also build with Hirst Arts blocks, Dice Rollers, Keeps, ruins and so forth. A friend and myself are starting to build the chess set from the blocks that is in the projects at Hirst Arts.

http://www.hirstarts.com/chess/chess.html

We are using Cletos Gael Females for one side and Celtos FirBolg for the other.

Where am I going, geeze this is a good question, my neighbours(good born again christians) tell me I am going to hell because I have a house load of miniature demons, dragons and other evil things.
They bathed in holy water after visiting my house and have never been inside since.

I personally think this is already hell with all the violence and crime that is around these days and we have all had our chance before and blew it.

One place I am not likely to go again is down the aisle, been there tried that, lost everything I owned and am now much wiser for it.
Only women I deal with now are the ones that I can send away after I am finished with them or tiny metal ones.

Cheers

Ouch! Im a committed Christian (not born again mind!) but your neighbours sound rather extreme! , might be comforting to hear that we are not all like that!
Darkson

[Off-topic] Why is it (in my experience) that born-again christians are the most extreme?

When I was a believer (before I discovered birds and booze ) I often found the born-agains did more harm to the message than good. They definetly urned a few people I knew away.
brownrob

Really dont know Simon! Sometimes its the church they are in, sometimes its trying to "make up for lost time", but i may be wrong!

Though Im of the stance "Who am I to persuade someone to become a Christian, what do i know?", what value is a faith that has been forced upon a person by someone else, I much prefer to live a life as good as I can and hopefully people will see me and say "wow, that guy is really getting something out of Christianity, maybe Ill look into it!" Though the thing that really gets me sometimes is the way some folk try to destroy a persons faith, seemingly with the only result is them feeling a buzz which annoys me somewhat! maybe I should be a Buddish, eh? .
I do have a problem with a lot of Organised religion, and disagree with a lot of the Catholic Church (in my perfect world there would be only be "parishoners", "priests, or for lack of a better word, disciples", and God! no other hierarchy aside from that, but sorry for going off topic! But then again, I wont force anyone to my will

When I met Ewan a few months ago in Edinburgh I think he summed it up perfectly for me, being a Christian; if its all true and when you die, great! , but if not, then at least you have lived a good life, respected by other people, so either way you cant lose!

Bingo!

You sound like my sort of christian - great if I am, but not going to force it on me.

Tbh, apart from the belief bit, it's the way I try to live my life as well. Ok, I may be an a-hole sometimes, but when the chips are down, I hope I'd be on the "good" side of the line (if any of that makes sense).

My personal beliefs now is that, life is it, there is nothing after, butleaving a positive mark on the world when you go is better than a negative one (and if I'm wrong at least I wouldn't get the worst hell! ).

Hi

My neigbours and their children look like they just walked of the "Little House On The Prairie" set.

They tried to convert me just after they moved in, they gave me a video to watch called "They Sold Their Soles for Rock and Roll".
A very well put together production that told a story of some guy who went to the crossroads and made a deal with the devil so he could play guitar. Lots of preaching from the bible.

Sounds like it would make a good movie, Oh yeh they already did, a couple of times.

My neighbours are fine, they have given up on the conversion and quite often send over home made cakes and biscuits. Yummy
They tell me they pray for me and my son.

I know a few christain people and respect their beliefs and they respect mine.
Each to their own is my motto as long as it does not effect anyone else.

Jehovah Witnesses, I did not think they were into that, the women that come a door knocking are usully rather good looking, might ask them in for some fun next time

Cheers
Bodhi

I am a buddhist (hence the nick) but find that christianity has much to offer. I'm an avid fan of both Meister Eckhart, Saint John of the cross and Erasmus of Rotterdam for instance. I just wasn't raised a christian personally but grew up with the ISKCON - The "Hare Krishna" that is - for part of my life - which would make me some sort of "hindu" I guess . For that reason it felt more natural for me to turn first to daoism and via that to buddhism. I'm now a member of the cloudwater sangha - a layman zenbuddhist congregation- and try to practice my daily hour at least of Zazen.
I'm all for digging at the cultural environment where you stand though. If you live and are raised in a christian environment I'm sure there are things in the broad christian spectrum that will fit, no need to get "exotic" about it
I was baptised a catholic without my parents consent though (due to nearly dying from pneumonia at a bavarian nunnery hospital

What... really? The long skirts, the bonnets, the whole deal?

But "Down Under"; that's Australia, right? Ha, I live and learn, wouldn't have known there were "born-again" Christians to be found there..

I meet those on a quite regular basis.. They're generally American (there's a huge G.I. - base not far from where I live; Elvis served his stint there), male and try to dress "preppy".. for me, it's become a habit to tell them in a polite but firm manner that I'm not interested in Jesus, thanks anyway.. Most get the point, but some just cannot let go. It's those that vex me sorely..
I'm such a big fan of the "each to his own beliefs" thing that I won't even post my own religious details here..

YEP

Females wear the long skirts to the ankles, lace up ankle boots pretty much all the time, only wear the bonnets to church.
Males wear the brown/beige cordoroy pants with button shirts, similar boots and hats to church

You expect the horse and wagon to come aout the garage.

Quite cute in a strange way really, but like I said each to their own.

All the children are home schooled so they only learn what mum and dad want them to. Very little contact with the outside world.

Well, I do! I'm a nosy person.

Ah, i see we have abusive mods here, as well as TBB who modify texts.

Oh, hang on a sec.

They're the SAME lovely MODS!!

Ah, I assume you're talking about Valen here, he is very abusive.

Either that, or Galak's feeling good at being let loose.
Ewan

Nah - It was I.

Been thinking, can we tone the subject matter down slightly. Most of us know each other from various forums etc but the last thing I want is to explain to wee Timmy's mom, why he learned self gratification advice from a miniature forum.

I'm not asking for you all to go all 'pure souls' here but err on the side of caution when posting stuff like that in future. It saves me from sending a nicely worded PM to you.

Ta!
Boondog

And I still don't know hoomin's "real vice" ...

come now, own up, you'll feel better for it..

also, if you keep me guessing, you'll only make things worse.. my powers of imagination are strictly "unsuitable for minors"

I'd think she'd have to worry about with wee Timmy frequenting a forum for nerds and geeks.

Are we really to believe that a boy old enough to be let onto the internet unsupervised hasn't discovered that for himself yet?
Ewan

Probably, who knows

But.

It creates potential hassle for me, not you. So asking nicely, keep it relatively clean.

Hi!

This is my first post.

I'm from México.

I've been painting and playing mini games for 15+ years now.

I started with HEROQUEST, imo the best game ever!

I moved to WHFB, but some years ago I quit and converted to Armies of Arcana, a far superior system in most respects.

I have played Necromunda, Morheim, Advanced Heroquest, Warhammer quest, Talisman, Dark world, Dragon Strike, and lots of other miniature games.

And then of course, FF, and I believe is near one of the best games I've played.

I already own about 17 teams painted to a high standard, and now I'm trying to sculpt some minis for my use (and if someone is interested, maybe be made available) in some alternative teams, or with some teams I don't like the actual sculpted ones.

Good wishes to you all.

Cephalopod

Hey there,

My name is Ben. I've been a wargamer and RPG player for... Gods, 18 years now. I started with DnD, and moved quickly to the Grandma Wendy games and Battletech (still a personal favorite).

In my professional life I'm a software engineer for an Aerospace company, so I can safely say that "I help make airplanes for a living".

Personally, I'm married and have been for the last 5 years. She's a wonderful woman and I had no idea the bargain I was getting when I put in the mail order... I kid, I kid. She hates that joke, so I tell it whenever possible.

My other hobbies are web programming, literature (sci-fi, historical, and religious texts (and I highly recommend the books "No God but God" and "What Went Wrong". Great insight into historical and modern Islam thought and society)), some computer gaming, and hiking (when the local wilderness isn't busy burning down...).

So, thats me in a nutshell. Hopefully I can grow my own crop of Elfball players in the area so I'll have many more posts at that point.
Dark Lord

Hi Cephalopod!

Welcome! I hope you have many good games!

Have you read The Christian Wisdom of the Jedi Knights?

Fun book IMO, I also enjoy religious studies...not that that book is so studious . It's just fun and helpful.

Battletech eh? Ever play CAV?
bouncergriim

Welcome to the forum.

I am trying to grow some elfball players here in Fort Worth, TX as well. I have one friend who is my FF buddy, and very small league that seems to be loosing some steam in that other game. There are only about 4 of us consistantly (and by 4 consistantly I mean about 8 or so guys, but only four ever show up for something at the same time or continue actively playing it seems). I am kinda hoping to try to get them into elfball.

Aside from that I love Fantasy Sports games and I played Grandma Wendys 4TK for awhile, but my minis are so outdated now (I still have some squirts in a shoe box somewhere) that it is not worth getting back into. I would rather spend my money with Impact in a game that seems to be growing rather than remaking itself every few years.

I also love thinking about the logic puzzle of strategy games with advancement. Studied Theology, Physics and Philosophy in college. Ended up with a Theology Major (Eastern Orthodox and Ethics focus), Physics minor (with an astronomy internship) and now teach HS Physics and Astro at a public school.

I also am married with a few kiddos and one on the way. My wife still lets me indulge my gamer side every once in a while as long as it only takes an afternoon or evening, not a whole day.

Well that is it for me. Good to get to know all the folks here and I will keep looking for loop holes and unorthodox (ussually unsuccessful) strategies and trick plays.

And I am also really looking forward to the Gnome release, I use the little buggers all the time in my word problems, kinda scares the students.

Cephalopod? OK I'm curious. As a person with a degree in Nutural Science how or why does a software engineer pick the name cephalopod? There's got to be a story here.

Wow, there have been more responses here than I'd thought there would be. I'll address each one below with the quote. I don't think I missed anyone.

Thanks for the welcome message! Let me know what works well for you when creating a league in Ft Worth. I'll do my damndest to apply it here. I plan, once I get it painted up, to demo in the local store on Saturdays. They don't have much table space, but Elfball doesn't need much table space so it balances out.

You certainly studied a broad range of subjects! Of course, I can only imagine that helps teach college prep work to your students, and no doubt they're in need of a great deal of that!

OC. I'm about 5 miles from the Santiago fire. In fact, today I just finished sweeping up the last of the ash that smoke from that fire dumped on my house.

I haven't read it, but I'll add it to the list. It sounds interesting and entertaining. Along similar lines, check out Small Gods by Terry Pratchett. It has a very good parody of religious thought and schims in the modern church. It takes place as part of his "discworld" non-linear series.

I looked into CAV, but I never got into CAV. The rules looked pretty cool, but none of those in my gaming group were too interested in it. These days I ignore the interest of my current group since I know I can bring them around... or get new people into the group who are interested.

Ha! Everyone asks this when they find out what I do for a living. I've used this screen name ever since High School (back when I still thought of software as a hobby and a way to annoy my brother. Nothing makes life worth living like having the computer startup and then randomly create pop-up windows that say "Eddie is a jerk!") after I bought the Chaosium sweater for the Miskatonic University which showed Cthulu waving a small flag.

The caption read: Miskatonic University, Home of the Fighting Cephalopods. Go 'pods!

From that point on, my name was born. Also, my various girlfriends over the years and my current wife would tell you my tentacles get everywhere, but that is a different story...
Wilderbeest

My name is Cliffe. Been playing games for more than twenty odd years now. Everything  from The Awful Green Things from Outerspace to Battletech to 40k to more RPGs than I care to list.

Now been married for eleven years and have two children so money and time are thin on the ground so it is back to board games for me. Also my beloved wife dissaproves of war games and to keep a happy marraige other games it will be.

Other interests I have are collecting Postmarks and reading history (Elizabethan is my preference).

Currently working in a warehouse, but considering taking up a book keeping course for the change of job.

Now going back to work as my lunch is over.

Me.

Played lots of that other FF game back in the day (before it became a Specialist Game).  The group and I play a lot of Warmachine and Hordes.  Really like what I'm seeing with Elfball, and hoping to get some interest roused up around here.

Live in the Indianapolis area (Lebanon now, Noblesville after Labor Day).  Like cats, and dogs, and Daleks.  I don't have a pet dog, yet.  Getting old and cranky in my old age, but still alive enough to roll some dice and move little plastic and/or pewter toy soldiers around a table a couple times a week.
Lychanthrope

Hordes and WarMachhine!!  There's 2 games I'd like to learn to play.  If I get back to GenCon next year I've got to get a demo from the Privateer guys.  Try Grind with your WarMachine minis.  Another fantasy sports game I want to learn.  Too little time and money, too many games.

Welcome to Impact!.
majortusk

if yer at the chaos cup, I can bring mine down for a demo if you want lycan :)
Dark Lord

Now I wanna go even more!

Warmachine appeals to me more than Hordes, just because of the style.
Vermis

Hullo.

I'm from the sticks in Northern Ireland.  I'm a zoology graduate, currently wondering if a slowly emerging miniature sculptor can pay off a student loan.  I've been in the gaming hobby (mostly Grandma Wendy, if that means what I think it means) for over ten years, IIRC, though I've only actually 'gamed' properly in the last couple of months.  I got my first taste of FF last night and I'm sold.
Dark Lord

First of all, welcome to the forum! This is a great and friendly forum, despite my omni-presence.

Have you tried Elfball or just Bl00d B0wl?

I would recommend Elfball, it's a better game IMO but each one has their own merits.
Darkson

Vermis, you might want to contact BrownRob, as I believe he's also in NI (but no idea on how local he is to you).

Young Rob is down my neck of the woods in Fermanagh - which really is in the sticks.

I've seen Vermis on the FOD - he's quite a conceptual artist too iirc.

Just the one game of double-B.  The gamers I know tend to stick to Granny Wendy round here, more out of long familiarity and convenience than fanboy loyalty, IMO (and those Sideline Games aren't so bad... ).  Although I don't think it'd be hard to introduce other games, given a ruleset and appropriate minis.

Oho.

Well, I won't argue with you there, although south Tyrone isn't too far off.
