Once in a while I still do paintI know it's not IMPACT stuff or even FF but this is the last thing I painted. I was intending on entering a GD with the guy but as in most cases life got in the way. He's not done. You can see a hole on the backpack where a banner will mount but that won't get done anytime soon. I just have higher priorties at the moment like the new stuff IMPACT has been released. Dang I can't keep up with the sculpters!
Sorry about the fuzzy pictures. I did lose some hue and depth in the photograph but what can you do? I think I need a better camera. I really do have to make that light diffusion box I've been ranting about.
Anyways let me know what you think. I promise I'll have something FF next.

Great piece, the shoulder pad is amazing. How much time did you put into this mini?

I didn't keep track. It was more of am experiement to try out new things. I must of repainted the tunic part over 3 times. I'd say more than 60 hours, maybe even 100 but as I previously stated I wasn't keeping track. Just having fun and you know what they say when you are having fun.
Mind you the banner is not included in the shot and significant effort went there as well. If I ever finish it I'll share that as well.

Primed black and using all Grandma Wendy line of paint.
Starting with a 10/90 mix of chaos black/snakebite leather I working in more and more snakebite leather until I get a pure snakebite leather hue. This takes about 5 to 8 steps.
I then use 50/50 snakebite leather/golden yellow and work up pure golden yellow in a few steps.
Same with 50/50 golden yellow/skull white until pure white.
Might seem like alot of work but it's easier than it sounds and I love the effect.
The white is 10/90 chaos black/bleached bone us to skull white using a similar method as the gold. Alot less steps though. I really like this method of shading white. Seems alot more natural to me than using blues.
Hope that helps.
