Planet of the Apes Weekend!Anyone else get the Fox Movie Channel? They are having a Planet of the Apes weekend marathon. They are showing all of the movies, all of the TV episodes (recut into movies) and lots of old behind the scenes stuff! All with limited commercial interruptions...if any!
Planet of the Apes is one license I wish would get an RPG, but that time has probably past. Too bad, it would have been awesome! Could probably be done easily enough with GURPS or Palladium's After the Bomb stuff. I'd just rather somebody did all the work for me.

I've been watching and enjoying this marathon. Now if only someone would make me some apes playing football.

Hey at least we've got 3. We have a lot of stuff to work through ... maybe someday we'll add in some extra Siringit players.

You've only got 2.
Baboons are monkeys, not apes.
I `spose we'll count the Gorillitaur as an ape.
I wanna see mecha apes!

Check out Terra Primate, it might fit your bill http://edenstudios.net/primate/
Not really a big PotAs fan, but that was probably because I never got to see any of the films or TV shows together. Did see one on rerun here a few weeks ago, and the kids just thought it was "funny".

That is very close to Planet of the Apes. Nice work arounds there, "Simian City instead of Ape City, Forbidden Lands vs Forbidden Zone...good stuff!
Also it uses the Unisystem which I think is one of the best RPG systems out there. Simple, sensible and easy!
Nice find!
Planet of the Apes is something you sort of have to be raised on I think. The first movie is top notch and fantastic and should appeal to anyone into sci-fi. Watching it 40 years after it was made sort of ruins you for the spoiler ending but, what can you do about that? The film's quality isn't dependent on the Rod Serling finale tho.
The rest of the films...well there is varying quality there to be sure. And I can't imagine watching them as an adult for the first time and thinking they were anything but ridiculous.
Probably would be like watching Doctor Who for the first time as a 35 year old adult...and watching a Tom Baker & K-9 episode to boot!

I DVR'd all of it. Then found out my wife has never seen any but the first one. Hoody hoo! She's gonna hate me.
