Yeah, I love the Griff, but they all look nice!
Good job!

forced to agree, the Bengal Griff is very eye catching....
no idea about the Dwarf and Elf commentators though.. who are they supposed to be..??

Forgot to tell that they are not painted by me, but by a friend of mine, Dani Sadgar. The commentators are from a tournament limited edition, got the through ebay.

Jan, you missed my sarcasm amigo.. the Dwarf is me and the Elf is PrinceLucianus (aka Lucy)... this was my first tourney special - you might even say it paved the way for me to start Impact!..
only 75 in existence my friend, and nicely painted too..

Well, then I have to say that you should sculpt more miniatures. As I saw them I liked them a lot. I also bid hard for them in ebay and I'm glad that I win. Are you planning on doing some new reporters minis? Or at least some sidestuff?

I think he means it's his likeness.

yes, my likeness, sculpted by Fubar back in 2004 I guess...
if I could sculpt like that Impact would have twice as many minis for sale!

Ok, sorry I am trying to finish my paper, but...
I think Impact! should make more sideline miniatures (i know, i know, the blue ruler )
So, do you like how the minis are painted?
@ Tom, do you want that I take some better pictures of red referee?

Echoing this question. Have you got anything in the pipelines for sideline and commentators?
Love the Minis Mephisto very well done.

we have a few sideline figs in the pipeline, but our enthusiasm is tempered by the fact that non-player minis do not tend to sell as well as on-pitch minis.. the beer girl is the exception to the rule, but Ref Red has really not sold the way we had hoped for or anticipated..

Maybe rules for using them in Elfball would help?

I have been toying with a similar thought Eric. Ref rules would be great, 'specially for tournaments.
In rough form. The refs would be drawn for each match (By random roll probably) from a table of available refs. Each individual ref would have his/her own personality or quirks which could be game affecting.
After drawing or selecting refs, each player would place "His" ref on his side of the field. Line of sight rules would apply, if a given ref cannot see a specific action then he cannot make a call.
Quirks might included things like:
* Bribable (Easily bought)
* Unbribable (Cannot be bought)
* Gender Bias (a % chance to let someone of that biased sex escape penalty)
* Boy Scout/Paladin (Fair Play for all!)
* Hitman for Hire (For the right price he will take out an opposing player, either by attack or fake call)
* Racial Bias (Same as Gender)
* Weapon (Chance that HE might foul offender or random someone)
* Aggressive (% chance he might pick a fight with anyone getting too close)
* Timid (Likely to run in fear if the action gets too close, with his back to the action he cannot see any fouls)
Ideally at some point in the distant future, each individual Ref might have his own mini, but initially there is no reason that the minis can't be considered generic and usable for any Ref drawn.
As I said this is just a very rough concept that I have had rattling around in my head (Like a FF in a beer can) for a while. But I think it has the seed of promise. And when combined with other ideas like variant "Home Fields" it can add totally unpredictable variations to each game. Of course the original concept was intended for that other game that Wendy plays, but it has mutated into an Elfball thing.
One idea I really like would be for tournaments. Each player registering for a tourney would be "Assigned" a specific tourney Ref (And supplied the mini for that Ref) which he would use for the whole tournament, be it good, bad or otherwise. This would create a limited figure market for tournament specific Refs. . .

definately some promise. how about:
* Bribable (Easily bought)
* Unbribable (Cannot be bought)
* Gender Bias (a % chance to let someone of that biased sex escape penalty)
* Boy Scout/Paladin (Fair Play for all!)
* Hitman for Hire (For the right price he will take out an opposing player, either by attack or fake call) ^you roll 1D6 after every opponent action, 1=direct attack, 2/3=fake call^
* Racial Bias (Same as Gender)
* Weapon (Chance that HE might foul offender or random someone)
* Aggressive (% chance he might pick a fight with anyone getting too close)
* Timid (Likely to run in fear if the action gets too close, with his back to the action he cannot see any fouls)
racial bias could work one of two ways, either the ref you are given is of a random race and calls fewer penalties against players of the same race.
or, the ref is biased against a random race.

I was actually subtly referring to my Secret Weapon rules. Tested, and tweaked and ready to kill.

In the Classic BattleTech game, they have rules levels.
Level 1 = Basic Simple Rules with lowest technology.
Level 2 = Advanced Rules with with higher technology and expanded rules.
Level 3 = Ultimate Rules with "Official" experimental technology and movement rules. (Sanctioned)
Level 4 = Unofficial Rules based on "FanTech or HomeTech". (These rules are unsanctioned)
Perhaps we need an "Official" experimental rules category?
A basic quickplay ruleset, an official ruleset and an advance or experimental ruleset? ? ?
