removing paint?

what is the best method to remove/strip the paint off of a mini? i have a team of old Grandma Wendy (love this slang name) Dark Elves that i got from a friend and they look horrible.

thanks for the advice in advance.

Simple green is the best environmental friendly alternative that you could use. just put it in a can of it and let it stand for a few days.

There are stuff that makes the job faster, but that can be hard to handle in the home, like brake fluid and stuff.

One of these forums turned me on to brake fluid. Works great!
It was suggested to be used for plastics because it doesn't melt them, but it works damn fine for metal too.

Simple Green works well too.

What ever you use, go find an old toothbrush.

they are soaking in simple green right now, and i did manage to brush one of them completely clean. gonna let them soak a bit more since they are pewter. thanks for the info.

Brake Fluid is awesome as long as you soak them in rubbing alcohol afterward as the brake fluid can seep into joints and cracks to leak out later under your new paint!  Still though, the alcohol will neutralize it just fine. I use Brake Fluid myself.
