Replacement playersOkay I know you can sub in a player anytime you are under 6 instead of movnig a player. And that player enters within three hexes of the stair way. Could someong make a picture to show what are the available squares to show exactly what the rule is saying?

This is how I interpret it. We start counting from the partial hexes that touch the stairs. The blue line shows what hexes are legal and 3 hexes or less from the stairs.
However I could see where there may be confusion (maybe on my part).
It all depends on whether you count partial hexes (or hexes with a white line in them) when you move from out of bounds to in bounds.
My feeling is that you do since entering those hexes causes you to be out of bounds, they exist, they just can't be touched once you are in bound.
But I could see the logic in only counting full legal hexes too.

I agree with this and DL's posted blue area.

Yeah, that's how we run it as well

Yup that's what the rule meant. DL's pic is correct.
