Some sprue suggestions...In the spanish Forum we are dealing with what kind of miniature we want to do and there's always one miniature people wants: a multicomponent chainsaw player.
I've been thinking, and related to the topic in tbb about sprues, why don't you make one that could be used to convert normal minis to players with secret weapons. A sprue that contains chainsaw, bombs, pogo (even if im not sure about this last), dagger, and perhaps a blunderbuss. What do you think about it?

I was going to suggest the same....

yeah... you were going to suggest the same... you were going to publish the new miniatures from Impact! Miniatures, you were going to defeat me in the F.O.T., you were going to make a basketball card game...
Come on Dan, everybody here knows you

So, what do you think about this sprue?

I think it's perfect. IMO secret weapon arm sprues (or just weapons themselves) is exactly the sort of thing that Impact could and should provide. They could go hand in hand with their multi-part humans.

Okay to be clear ... I'm not against this.
The biggest problem is that sprues don't sell well. Every sprue in the Sprue area of the store doesn't sell enough to justify more money spent in this area (at least at this time).
Again .... I'm not saying we'll never do it ... just that previous history doesn't suggest they will sell.

could you try selling the pumkin head arm with chainsaw as a sprue and see how it goes? Or maybe you could try to set up a section that sells bits/parts of other models in your line as sprue usage, like the minotaur heads.

Yep, but which sprues do you have in store?
Ok, let's analyze them. I have not put the human's one's, because I suppose they sell well, and if not, then I recommend you strongly that you get some mounted and paint the miniatures. Because I think that those are great.
So, the first ones, even if they are not extremly great, are OK. Their problem is probably that they can only be used with Chaos Teams... so you have limited your market. I don't see any use for the anubis sprue and tell me for which miniature should I use the theja doris arm? I don't have any miniature that is as thin as theja doris, so if I would purchase this sprue and aplly it to a mini, I would have a thick body and head with thin arms.
I like the work you do at Impact! but I think the sprues you have made till so far, have been made without a clear market strategy.
I would recommend to do the secret weapons sprue and others like shoulder pads (like the whf marauders, orks and space marines), different heads (have a look at hasslefree's heads) and perhaps some armor sprue. I think you would sell a lot more.

I honestly think that is because there are no pics of them assembled.
It's hard to imagine them put together because the pics are a little unclear.
What happened to the photos somebody did of their custom real world players?
HERE IT IS
These could look great. Where is lahatiel and why have we not seen the finished products?
This are definitely on my want list and I have even asked myself (should have asked on the forum) why they aren't posted in a team deal situation. Maybe for Middle Kingdoms?

Okay I guess they are offered as a package but I think they would do better in a more forward location. They seem to be "in the back corner of the store."
Also I see that the deal for these guys is enough to make 16 figures. Is there a combination that would do 12 that could be sold for less than $45?
Making them the cheapest team available might go a long way to selling them too! But I think pics of the finished product and an entry into the Elfball team deals would go a long way!
Tom, you should pay attention to these posts too, IMO.

Keep it up. |

They look great!
Apparently these minis have a lot more potential than I've given them credit for...
Keep up the good work!

I think as soon as I have some cash I'm gonna buy some of these and do them up decent and bring them to Gencon! (great more painting that needs to be done for the con. )

I read those comments ... but they still don't sell.
I can include assembled pics from his work in progress to help.

The pumpkin arm is not much thicker than the Theja arms.

That's exactly what I am looking for. A sprue with a modern chainsaw, a "steampunk" chainsaw, a grenade and a blunderbuss. I'm not a regular customer of Imact! but that I would buy. Twice.

The Koala had various weapons... Maybe you could make a mini (like a Hobimp) with different arms with various weapons and cast a few extra arms and sell them separately.
Again a project for post debt.

This is just my experience, but I found Impact! looking for unique teams. I started playing miniature fantsay football about a year ago and found most the teams online to be bland and generic. When i found Impact! I immdeiately gravitated towards the unique looking teams and found myself wanting them. I currently sport a Black Widows team, a Pharaohs of Vihktora team, a Siringit team a Gnoll team and a Gnome team.
I'm willing to bet most customers that find themselves ordering from Impact! are much like myself, looking for unique models.
The downside of new customers and their desire to find that cool looking team is the fact that they want just that. A TEAM. Spurs are going to hold little intrest in a large ammount of Impact's customers, and by what Tom has said so far this assumption is right on the money.
The only suggestion I could possibly think of (again POST Debt) would be
a selection of "Special Players" that would be sold including arm/head/leg spurs. These would cost more than a regular piece BUT definately would appeal to those customers who wanted to spice up their rosters and get some modding going on.
Just a thought.
