Tantor green for Siringit teamWe've had mixed luck showing off greens ... but the partners of Impact! are very happy with Clint's work on the Tantor that we had to show him off.
He's about 36mm to the eye and 45mm overall height.

Now that.... is freekin sweet Tom!!!
It bears the most resemblence to the sketches as well. Thats easily my fave of the siringit so far, i was a little disappointed with the lion and the ape

I actually thought the lion was awesome.. while it did deviate slightly from the sketch, I liked the way in which he had become even more ferocious..
in any case, I agree the Tantor is a wicked sculpt..

Wow. I wasn't really interested in the Siringit concept (I like the sketches but, for personal taste, am not attracted by an animal team) but I think I won't be abble to resist and not buy this Tantor. It really seems to be a great sculpt ! Bravo !

This guy could fill a number of different roles. With how he came out ... I could easily see him subbing as a Minotaur or Ogre type figure in any fantasy miniatures game setting.

Maybe it's just me.
The way the trunk transitions from a downward direction into an upward direction, kinda looks funny. I think there's a looping, twisting, curve kinda thing there that is dificult to see in the photo.

(ie pet the Elephant close).
The trunk is extremely prehensile. It can twist and bend in ways that if you are thinking of it as a more solid object would not make sense.
My wife has a painting that the elephant made for her on one of our visits. Takes a lot of twisting/bending to hold a paint brush and paint.
If you know all this sorry ... just making sure.

Our zoo had a very famous elephant and after doing animal life drawings at school I can assure you that Galak is right.
Most people tend to draw the trunk as if it had the same characteristics as a tail (IE filled with bones along a ligament) but it's more like a tentacle of an octopus than a tail.

In my humble opinion, that is probably the most amazing fantasy football miniature ever. I am a BBowl player who is just starting to get interested in Elfball.

Sorry to be impatient but am currently wiping the drool off my keyboard | I'm waiting to receive a sculpt from Norse and 5 from Fubar.
As soon as these 6 arrive ... I'll be sending the whole lot (including the elephant) off to the caster. So assuming that these figures are in the mail as they said they were ... I should have them within 1 weeks. Off to the caster and around 3 weeks to cast and 2 weeks to get them in stock in the UK. So my best guess is June 1st I hope.

Tantor is probably going to be around early July to hit the store.
Plan is to have them to me by June 24th and then I need to get them to Gavin which needs 14 days.
So I would say you are looking at around July 8th to be in the store.

Ok Galak,
We are getting really close to release so how about a bit of a spoiler...
Mind telling us what the first nine miniatures for sale will be from this team I have seen the sketches for several but I don't recall seeing 9, yet alone 13
PS: Anyone have that link to the sketches btw?

OK, so there are a lot of sketches. But now I see 1 more sketch than 13 miniatures. There were 13 there and it didn't include the Mantis thrower.
When you talk about 13 team players Galak, did that include the cheerleader lioness or other coaching staff? Is she (or other coaching staff) getting produced as well?
|
GalakStarscraper

Elfball teams are 12 players. The team has 12 players and a cheerleader for 13.
The Mantis Thrower was submitted to us by PF for our Targeted Impact! program and will be the 14 miniature sold on the team page.

Sweet!
Off Topic:
We get them (or got them) pretty bad in the late summer months in Davenport, or at least in some areas. I worked 3rd shift and I'd go to my car at 6am after work and there would be dozens of them on it. Most of them about 4-6 in long. They would be all over the lot too...so bad you couldn't avoid them...krackle krunch...eeeewww.
Nearly everyday I thought about nabbing one and keeping it as a pet but I never had anything to put it in and walking back into work after clocking out just wasn't gonna happen...but I always wanted one.
Post some pics of yours when you do the mini! Preferably feeding pictures!
