Thads makes a promise (he'll probably fail)Here's the plan:
I have recently got my Fantasy Football thang back with the resurrection of my league.
I have a whole bunch of stuff I haven't painted (in most cases stuff I have started, maybe even finished one or two minis and then stopped).
It's not like I NEED the new team, but I'm kinda sick of Privateer Press stuff now.
SO. A few years back I bought a team of Desert Dogs. They got part painted and forgotten. Today I decided that I wanted to have a team from the Impact catalogue painted up, and while I wait for all Victoria Lamb's figs to come out I'd do them. Just for motivation, and to keep myself to the ridiculous idea I had, I'm posting this.
The team are currently getting an acetone bath.
On thursday I have the day off (Ascension day. Still means something here.) At the end of the day, assuming the stripping of the minis goes according to plan, I have vowed to get the team done, from undercoat to based.
One team. Fourteen minis. Twelve hours.
I'll take pics and post them as I progress.
Watch this space.

You can totally do that. I think you can get a team done in that time. I can certainly get a batch of 6-8 figures painted from go to woah in about 12-14 hours - and that's at my standard. But no breaks! You go son!

Addendum: The LGS got them in today so I picked some up and want to give them aproper test drive (as opposed to the small tests I've had with friends').
The team will be entirely (barring the undercoat) painted using the new Privateer P3 paints.
I got laughed at when I told the guy behind the counter of my plan.
We're expecting the in-laws to come see their grandson too...hopefully they won't mind me being antisocial.

Progress report:
I decided to split the team in half for each stage of the process.
I have the four linemen, two throwers and a catcher nearly base coloured.
So far I have been somewhat hindered by a hungry baby, who once fed decided to pee on his mum mid-nappy change and then puke on me. Twice.

Good luck, Thadrin. As a guy who has major problems motivating himself to paint because he usually spends more time than that on each figure, I'm rooting for you!

I started painting at 9.30am CET. It is now 4.15pm CET.
All 14 figures are finally base coloured.
To keep to the twelve hours I need to get all the highlighting done within the next five hours.
TBH I don't think I'm going to make it - this was a really stupid time to put myself through this (I worked last weekend, which is always a killer) and I gave blood on tuesday and have been feeling a little out of it since. Something like this requires preparation.
Still...there is still hope. Watch this space.

5 hours to highlight 14 figs? I wouldn't be able to hightlight one fig in 5 hours.

Sorry to say I'm calling it a day. Between my baby and my minis I've run out of energy.
Failure....a brave attempt though I think.
I have the flesh done on all 14. I have initial highlighting done on the clothing of 9 of the 14, and made a start on the ends of the sashes.
I have realised that if I tried any more then I'd be making a mess of them (as it is I'm only aiming for neat tabletop quality...not my usual standard, which are reasonably high these days, if not up to some folks' levels).
I am now vowing to get them finished on saturday. Hopefully I'll be feeling human again by then. This was really REALLY tough.

Nice idea though. Hmmm. There's a public holiday coming up for me (Queen's B'day celebration on 11th June).

You Aussies get a public holiday for the Queen's birthday?
Damn, that is so wrong (seeing as so many of you want a repuplic! ).
So not only do we not get a holiday on St. georges Day, we don't even get our own monach's day off (not that I give two hoots about the monachy, but a holidays a holiday...).
I'm going to have to complain to my MP.
