i voted red and black (with gold as the metallic). the whole blue and gold for egyptian themes has been done to death. for a legacy team we need to do something different
|
Mephisto
|
Voted red and black, too.
|
Ted Striker
|
I voted black... second vote will be yellow :)
Go Crew!
|
Stout Youngblood
|
Black primary, gold could be secondary.
|
Thom
|
OK, once again I am not involved in the team process so I will not vote. . . But I would really like to see Red & Pink. . . OK all jokes aside, I think those colors would rock, if not then the trusty Blue & Gold. . .
But again, this is only from an observers point of view.
|
Spiky
|
Call me boring - I think blue and gold would look great on the Pharoah models

If you want to see really good football (or what you call soccer) then search in youtube after videos from FC Barcelona and Messi

Purdindas

Red 1st, blue as a second choice and white as a wild card. All of these colours would look really nice next to gold (Metallic gold that is).

If you want to see really good American Soccer, do a search for Columbus Crew :). Or if you want to find comparable quality, go to your local high school.
I'm very aware of the beautiful game. I'm also very aware of the level of play in the MLS. But as a supporter, I go with the home town team. The Crew deserves better attendance for sure, but they have one of the strongest supporter sections in the league. Go Crew! . Again, you will chuckle at what we consider good. But over here, we soocer fans are stuck with what we got. I am jealous for sure.
I do follow Manchester United (first European team I ever saw play) and Bayern Munich (met Klinsmann when I was a kid, followed them ever since).
Sad thing is, I'm old enough to have cheered for the New York Cosmos when Pele and Beckenbauer played.
Such the joke that American soccer is. But I love it ;).
So back on Topic... everyone vote Black and Yellow!!!!!!!

Don't take me wrong. I know that the MLS has not the level of top european Leagues, but it is an interesting competition, which is getting more attention, at least in Spain. Two young guys from 3rd division (would be 4th division practically) have been hired by the Iowa Mustangs. I like the Draft system a lot. Can you pm some good mls websites? And as for Barcelona, I told it, because if you like football, they are doing the best football on earth.

I'll say red and black as well.
|
lahatiel
|
One more for red & black.
|
Mephisto
|
I think we can call a winner, can't we?
|
Dark Lord
|
Well Red & Black seem most popular.
What would everyone prefer between Red & Black?
Despite being an University of Iowa Hawkeyes fan I prefer Red & Gold to Black & Gold, so my vote would be for Red.
Everyone else?
Red - 3
Black - 0
|
Nyarlathotep
|
I prefer red.
|
MidniteXpress
|
why not both? red with a black stripe (or vise versa) with gold trim?
imagine the head-dress of the anubis minis red, black strip from ront to back with either gold belts/bracelets etc or a gold trim on the cloth itself. should be easy to do and would look great, plus just about all the vihktora minis have a handy loincloth for this to work
|
Dark Lord
|
Which ever is the winner I will add the loser to the secondary colors poll.
|
duttydave
|
Voted Blue but am happy with any majority decision.

Purdindas

If it came down to red and black I would definetely have to go for red!
Think thats what I said at the start Hehe

Mephisto

red is fine
|

I had been painting mine Red & Black with Gold trim, I must say, it looks good

You know I quite like the sound of that!
Does anyone have any objections to that scheme?
Should we just go for it?
|
Stout Youngblood
|
go for it...

Why couldn't you have done that against me at Zlurpee?
|
Nyarlathotep
|
'Cause I did it against Geggster at Chaos Cup.
Killed my hobgoblin, too.
|
Spiky
|
Red, Black and Gold sounds good to me
|
Dark Lord
|
Okay so we have 4 people who are good with Red, Black & Gold. At least enough to voice it here.
Does anyone have any objections? Speak now, or forever hold your peace!
If nobody gives it an objection in the next few days, we'll get started I think.
|
Stout Youngblood
|
No objection here.
Lets get started...

Red & black with gold works for me, too.

Looks good, now slow down!
|
Spiky
|
Heh - I had some time over the public holidayweekend in the UK. I have to say the model was really enjoyable to paint too.
|
Mephisto
|
Spiky, did you use any dipping or inks?
Nice model
|
Spiky
|
No dipping used although the model did receive a wash with a citadel wash to shade.
The skin was Graveyard Earth washed with one of the citadel washes, then highlighted with Desert Yellow and Kommando Khaki
The red was a base coat of Mechrite Red from the foundation range, washed then highlighted with Blood Red
Hope this helps!

Well we got some who haven't stated their locale yet but it looks like an even split.
Should we do a North American guy and European guy? What is usually done?
|
Spiky
|
It's up to you, seeing as you're directing us :-)
I'm happy to be a regional hub for the european entries if this is preferable to us all shipping individually to you?
Regards,
Steven

Madrid, Spain.
But I am going to move this summer, so I don't think that I am a good option...

I'm in California.
For the past legacy teams in which I've been taken part (a couple of TBB, one Zlurpee), there was just one organizer to whom everyone sent their finished figure, and then he sent the entire team to the winner at the end... regardless of where all the participants were.

That's what I did last year. Worked out well for the most part.
|
Dark Lord
|
Cool. I guess that's me then.
I'll give my addy in PM. Spiky, you should probably hang on to yours until the others get closer to being done, unless you're moving or something. Or you just want to gamble that I won't lose him in the mess that is my office over the next several months.
|
Spiky
|
OK I'll hang on to him for a bit longer!
|
Spiky
|
So...
Any updates?
Cheers

Have only just got round to ordering my Thoth midfielder. Waiting upon his arrival to start painting.

I'll be placing my order sometime toward the end of the month, after the guys get back from GenCon.
|
Stout Youngblood

I have my figure and its primed. Will probaby start on it next month.
|
Dark Lord

I'll be done with mine in a couple of weeks. Anyone else here have any updates?
Seems awfully quiet around here!

The figure is assembled, but haven't started yet. I'll start next month (September) with all the other legacies I have...
|
mattwhile

Have just started my figure. How's everyone else going with theirs?
|
Dark Lord

Mine has stalled. It's got the base tones done tho. Basically if I sit down with it for a few hours it will be done.

Mine is primed and I've done an initial wash on the feathers.

D'oh! I placed an order during the post-GenCon sale, just like I'd planned: got the Deadling Chef set, a couple of the more recent Deadlings I didn't yet have, a full team's worth of multi-part human sprues for whenever I get around to redoing my Michigan Wolverines, etc. But I couldn't help but think afterward that I'd forgotten something...
Yeah, guess I forgot to order this guy!
Between the figure I'm currently sculpting for our next FF tournament (yes, Norse, I'm finally, actually doing it! ) and my new work position that has my traveling about a quarter of my time, this had completely slipped my mind. I'll try to still get a hold of one, and 2+ months before deadline should hopefully still give me time. But between finishing the sculpt, the travel, and my notorious slowness in all things paint-related, I can't make any promises.

Purdindas

Did some more work on my Ra thrower today. He's looking pretty good. One more session on maybe tuesday then I think he'll be finished then I'll put a pic up :)
|
Dark Lord
|
Yah. Same here. I think I will finish mine up sometime this week and get pics up next weekend.

Here are some pics of my legacy mini and also my TBB legacy mini. I had them both in the same pic to save effort.

so are we putting our handles on the bases again this year?
and when should we start mailing them in?
when will we be drawing?
I'm done painting mine, I have to get him based. Static grass and he's ready to go.

I guess so. If you don't want to it's not required.
| Ted Striker wrote: | | and when should we start mailing them in? |
Whenever it's done. Just PM me and I'll send my addy.
| Ted Striker wrote: | | when will we be drawing? |
Early January. Like as soon as I wake up from drinking and gaming all day on the 1st, and tell Galak to draw a name.

Mine is done, just need to dig out the camera and take some pics...so lazy.

I think Wife and I will tackle ours this Thanksgiving break. Nice having a few days off.
|
Stout Youngblood
|
Started mine a few of hours ago and just finished. All I have left is to flock the base. Will do that in the morning and dull coat it. I will take a picture and post it tomorrow.
Here is the picture. Still amazed this figure only took me about 3-4 hours.
|
lahatiel
|
Very nice job! I'm envious of your speed; I'm sure I could get faster if I painted more but at my current average of painting just over one figure per year, it still takes me a double-digit number of hours to get it to that standard.
