VASSAL 5.1.1 and 5.1.2 released

OK, having looked through matts feature requests I now present 5.1.1

Changes for 5.1.1
- Pressing 1-6 on the keyboard while player is active will allow you to set the facing the same as the template on the board. WEADZX remains for player movement
- Can set player facing firectly via the right click menu
- Can set the Down/Dazed/Standing status directly via the right click menu
- Ability to directly send a player off via right click menu
- Player is unable to Jog while Down/Dazed
- Observers unable to access playing pieces on the board

Changes for 5.1.2
-Checks when a player enters a goal hex to see if it is legal or not. This seems to slow the tool down a bit so it may not be that useable. I considered doing this for the outer ring also but this may make the tool unusable!!!

I also added in sounds for bouncing balls and various injuries, but again this lags the game a bit

Ill post the links up when the site comes back online

For those who find the tool is running slow, do check that you dont have any other programs running that also use Java, I find the more instances of Java that are running, the slower the thing gets!

Not worthy mate! Although at times I feel as though I am just like a persistent child demanding things are exactly how I want them to be. Really appreciate it though and as soon as it is up then I will give it a run through and feedback will be forthcoming.

Can't thank you enough for the time that you guys spend on this though.

Just to pre-empt brownrob the modules are now up and can be found at:

Elfballv5-1-1.mod

Elfballv5-1-2.mod

Downloading as we speak and once I get any spare time in the week (since I regularly have to be up at 4am at the moment, boo) then I will give them a real playtest and report back.

Finally got some time to have a quick playtest and things look really good. The facing works a treat and really does make the tool much more fun to use.

One thing though.  Sound effects - Just a personal thing but I have never liked the FUMMBL effects and since I generally listen to music when I am on the computer I would like these to be optional if possible. The tool is looking really good now though and I am really looking forward to actually being able to give it some serious usage.

Thanks again for all the hard work boys.

Question. How come on the names of the players they all have '1' before the name?
brownrob

Im not sure mate, it sort of creeped in somehow, I cant remove it! if its really bugging you I can try to remove it somehow, or ask someone who might know! I think its playerside, so you would be 1 i would be 2

No big deal. At one point I thought that you had cleverly numbered the players so that if you had more than one player of the same position then they would incrementally increase. I take it that isn't the case! Don't stress about it.

Am in the middle of a playtest game at the moment and it is working great. The facing thing is just so much better this way that it takes out all of the stress (erm, if that isn't too dramatic a word) of actually playing and moving the players.
