Black
You value power, ambition, and darkness. You love power at any cost, and are a corrupting influence on those around you. At your best, you are resourceful and unashamed. At your worst, you are parasitic and amoral. Your symbol is a skull. Your enemies are white and green.

I got Black.
I have a few old magic decks kicking about...one of which is indeed a monoblack Zombie deck from the Onslaught block. Its crap though.
My Monored burn deck is a bit better, and I have a couple of monogreen decks knocking about in the box as well....but my "one deck" is a Green-Blue-White Sliver deck. That doesn't really fit.

presumably our gaming style is like an alter-ego to our other side...
I reckon most people have a number of personalities which they adopt as and when required - which is why if you accidentally meet the hard-nosed boss at the weekend and see him playing peek-a-boo with his kid, it feels all weird..
besides, being white is about being righteous - and millions have lives have been taken in the name of righteousness - so we are just as dangerous as those blacks and reds mate.. arguably more so, because we do it for some perceived good reason!

I never got past Portal.
I wasted too much time and money on the Star Wars CCG before I realized the "strategy" of collectible games is nothing more than "he who spends the most wins the most."
I realized it when I picked up a Scrye magazine declaring an in depth and analytical look at the grand tourney winner's deck and strategy. He strategy was 5 Vaders, 5 Devastators, 3 vader's lightsabers, on and on and on.
It was ridiculous. The guy spent $500 to win a $200 prize.

It was so long ago that I played that I don't think they had different named expansions yet. I just remember that there were black boarded and whited boarded cards. I think I also remember they introduced rampage damaged when I played. Aside from that, my mom hated it, she thought it was evil because it was about "magic" and magic and the devil were synomous.

Portal was a back to basics 'for beginners' expansion. Portal players could play against regular Magic players...but only if they liked getting stomped.
Portal should have been called Gateway as in "gateway drug."

At the top of my game (ie when I traveled from DCI event to event) I was ranked 13th in Indiana by the DCI (similar to the NAF for Magic) for Sealed Deck play.
I sold most of my Magic card collection on Ebay for $10000 to start my B-lood B-owl collection. I sold the last of it (my complete Mint condition Arabian Nights set 75% autographed by the artists) and my mint Beta Ancentral Recall to get Impact! investment capital to get rolling.
I kept my 3 most favorite just for fun play decks in the closet just in case its still hot when my kids are old enough to be interested in it.

I turned out White too.
I remember playing this game years ago but gave up due to spending a small fortune trying to amass all the Uncommon and Rare cards.
I did have a very fast Green and Red deck with lots of small creatures and the Channel Fireball combination. It either worked spectacularly or failed in similar fashion.
I know that since I played there have been numerous expansions etc
Does the old Channel Fireball still work like a charm?

I wish I could say this.
Spent too much money on this but like Galak was able to sell it off to help satisfy my FF obsession (just didn't make as much as him but that is fine, probably didn't spend as much as him, either).

Worked out a deal with a game store that didn't have much capital. I purchased their Magic card for them in bulk by the case (10 boxes of boosters per a case). I bought the cards in bulk .... so I would give them 8 boxes of the cards to sell and keep 2 as my profit margin. They would get a % of the sales price as profit for the 8 the sold and the rest of the cash came to me which paid for the entire case of 10.
So every time I ordered Magic cards for them I got 2 boxes which was normally 48? boosers with 15 cards each ... (ie a lot of "free" cards). Had this arrangement with them for over a year until they went out of business. Anyway ... gave me a TON of cards to have a collection and to use as trading stock to get the rest of my collection.
I've alway looked for the angle in my life ... that's why I love being involved with Impact!

Cigarettes and CCG's are similar. Weed is something else, and you should lament never trying it.
If they decriminalized it in Illinois I would never drink again. For a really funny and eye opening look at marijuana watch "Super High Me"
Oh and as far as "Hello, my name is Eric and I am a CCG addict." goes.
I spent upwards of $7000 on Star Wars cards, and sold them for $3000. Bought a car. Although looking at ebay, it looks like I sold them at the right time!
IMO Heroscape is the perfect middle ground. It's still collectible in a sense but not to the point where a rare fig will rule the table. And if WotC doesn't fumble the ball it will be in game stores soon!

Oh absolutely sir! You GalakStarscraper are personaly the single greatest force in this game today. You have contributed more of yourself for the FF games and hobby in the past few years than JJ and the rest of the BBRC combined.
Please don't think that I am belittling them at all, there are many folks who have made great contributions, but Tom is the ultimate key to everything good that has happened for FF in the past few years.
Not trying to blow smoke up your skirt, just telling the truth as I (And pretty much everyone else) see it. . .

Well I believe Tom is a force for good.
I just don't think the LRB is.
I think Elfball and Streetbrawl has kept my fantasy football interest alive despite the paradox that Bl00d B0wl has become.

Oi! I may not agree with all Tom's decisions (some his, some forced on him), but I've never said he was a "bad thing"(TM) for BloodBowel. Hell, I saw an early draft of the proposed PBBL rules from JJ, so I know what we might have got!

Just for anyone who may be vaguely interested in CCGs still, but hates the first C...try the Game of Thrones Card Game. They'll be bringing out a new core set with 4 precon decks soon. Then they release a small, fixed content, pack of cards each month ("Chapter packs").
The game is all sorts of fun, and will scratch your itch if you have one, with none of the nonsense you get with M:tG.

Depending on price and time I might check it out. Problem is between Elfball, Heroscape, Last Night on Earth, Legions of Steel, and the irregular RPG night my game card is full! That's not to mention Munchkin and Settlers with the in-laws!
