WHOA!Who else felt the earthquake last night?!
My wife and I were fast asleep and I woke up and said, "Wow, that thunder was so loud it shook the house!" My said that she didn't think it was thunder and we both went back to bed.
Turns out it was a 5.2 quake!

I slept through it, but that shouldn't be too surprising. I slept through the Northridge earthquake too...

Did it reach to Colorado or are you closer to the Midwest?

Scared my parrots out of their wits (I'm closer to ground zero of this one than DL ... I think).
So wife got little sleep as the 3 parrots were seriously spooked.
Our two kids slept through it.

Yeah I think you are a little closer. Like 40 or 50 miles? Anyway, there have been aftershocks all morning! It's been fun.
Apparently because of the soil in the midwest a 5.2 here is felt further and stronger than a 5.2 in San Andreas. They're saying it traveled as far as Chicago and Ohio.
Way cool!

I doubt it, actually. Lack of intervening faults not withstanding, Colorado is a ways away. I just like telling people I slept through an earthquake with its own Wikipedia entry :). My favorite earthquake happened during a Star Trek episode: the people on the front couch thought the people in back were adding a little "mood enhancement" to the space battle on the screen.
Hope nothing got broken. When I was in California, I was always careful with bookshelf placement and such. These days, I let it slide, although I suppose this reminds me I should at least put some thought into it.
