Going through some old threads, and came across this, which was something I thought I'd like to see at the time, and guess I should add to the list.
Starting near the bottom of the linked page:
Celtic Dwarfs
Dwarfs in kilts (perferebly not comical), with a distinct Highlands/Slaine feel.
The Celtos Vanir is the sort of feel I'd like (though not 100% right).
I don't own a dwarf team, and at the moment have no desire to (though a range in the style of the new Goblin Forge one might tempt me), but a range of Celtic Dwarfs I'd buy like a shot. _________________ What the hell am I doing on a mini's forum? I DON'T PAINT!!!

Aren't Dwarfs in kilts the very definition of comical? _________________ A wise man knows when he knows nothing. |

Depends how they're done. For example, this one isn't comical (though not exactly a kilt). _________________ What the hell am I doing on a mini's forum? I DON'T PAINT!!!

Better late than never (not the best pics, but it gives an idea)

Sackheads are the standard traditional scarecrows. I have been picking up various scarecrow minis for sometime now but few of them really lend themselves to conversion, they just don't have enough of a FF feel.
Some I have found though that are not too bad, these have the most potential, they are all in my kit right now.

While the rags look cool in the setting they are meant for, I would prefer something more uniform like as I am really not that artistic with my conversions.
I seldom get to play FF, so mostly I just collect the minis and assemble teams, roughly 30 of them now. (Few painted yet, but maybe someday!) And do slow motion conversions now and then as time and muse allows. I really like my teams to have individualy unique figures in each position whenever possible. Right now I have twelve unique Scarecrows, six pumpkin heads and six sackheads and a few extra odd duplicates, but at least four of those minis would make poor conversions. (One is perched on a tombstone)
Ral Partha (IronWind Metals) has an awesome squating pumpkinhead which I have also:

This one will be perfect with some pads.
Another thought too might be a scarecrow ref mini(s) I probably have a dozen or so refs or figs for conversion to refs. They would go great with some ref rules ideas I have been tinkering with!
The idea of a halloween team has appeal too since it has been mentioned. Maybe a vampire and one of my spare Frankie minis. . .

How about these guys from Dwarf Wars? http://www.oldgloryminiatures.com/proddetail.asp?prod=DW%2D214
I think they look great and if I was to make a table top game Fantasy Army I'd seriously consider at least a couple of units of Celtic Dwarves. |

Or you could just buy the ImpactThunder Hammer Dwarves who are wearing kilts. _________________ "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."
