Look at that, a year ago and people still think Grandma Wendy might make a box set.

If you were being really cynical you might suggest that the secrecy agreement is to stop you being too specific when you complain it dosent happen _________________ Elfball is for girls...... and pigs apparently, I know which one I am :D |

I'm betting they are not working on a bl00d b0wl box set.
In fact, it may not even have anything to do with bl00d b0wl...I mean wouldn't having one of the partners from Bl00d B0wl's biggest competitor help you develop Bl00d B0wl constitute a HUGE conflict of interest? I think Tom's involvement with LRB and Grandma Wendy in general already is tip toes on the line.
I wouldn't feel comfortable trying to convince my FLGS on stocking Elfball goods if the owner of Elfball was indirectly trying to sell them on stocking Bl00d B0wl. _________________ "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."

See the funny thing is here that yes both Elf ball and FF are competitors. However, the more people that play one, I think only helps the other. If people like one then the will probably be interested in the other.
I like lots of board games and do not just look for one company or another, but concepts I like. I will buy a zombie board game from any company. I think the more the ideas work hopefully the bigger base you can make.
Yes there is only so much money you can get from one person, but if you can find more then you make more overall even if it is less per person.
I love FF and I really like Elf ball, I just need to get more games under my belt and see how it works in a league to really get to know it better before I can love it.
Really Grandma Wendy needs better marketing on FF, and I think they could make some good money from it. Especially if they could do a FF light and market it to more people as a gate way "drug". Compete with heroscape and try to tap into more sports interested people.
What I would actually like to see here though, would be Elfball as the mass marketed game. The only problem with that is eventually it would need some prepainted plastic models to get more universal appeal.
Okay that is my ramblings for this afternoon coffee break. |

(ie beta testing and I've put together specs for some modules they had questions on)
Been working on that since they first started beta-testing. Looking forward to that coming out this summer.

The only chance I really see for one would be if the video game sold like blockbusters and G-W saw it as a gateway to a redone boxed set.
LRB 6.0 was already announced as the last rulebook for many many years to come by G-W in November of last year. The BBRC is being closed after LRB 6.0 comes out November of this year. Part of the reason we were given for that by G-W was that if the video game was a huge seller they wanted a finalized stable rulebook to use as the basis for a boxed set. Please note at NO POINT did I say they ARE working on a new boxed set. They are simply setting the stage that if the video game sells like hotcakes that the rulebook will be finalized and unchanging for many years to come ... thus the BBRC getting mothballed when LRB 6.0 comes out.
So do I have real hopes for a new boxed set. No. Wildest dreams would be that the video game sells so well that when we complete LRB 6.0 that it would go into the hopper for a new boxed set. But I'm very realistic that this is a wild dream. But at a minimum G-W is covering the bases so that if a wild dream happens that B-B is ready to go for a new box.

I'm an idiot...or my computer is anyway.
I could swear it said that this thread was recently posted in. I looked and saw your posted about the "confidentiality agreement" from the 12th...and it was Feb 13th. Not only was I not noticing the year, but the month too.
I was thinking, "Jeez!! How many projects is Tom gonna help them with!"
I'm sorry. I'm a boob. I thought you were working on another project with them and insinuating that it was a new box set. I was actually annoyed at Impact for this! I was feeling a little betrayed even!
