Me.
Played lots of that other FF game back in the day (before it became a Specialist Game). The group and I play a lot of Warmachine and Hordes. Really like what I'm seeing with Elfball, and hoping to get some interest roused up around here.
Live in the Indianapolis area (Lebanon now, Noblesville after Labor Day). Like cats, and dogs, and Daleks. I don't have a pet dog, yet. Getting old and cranky in my old age, but still alive enough to roll some dice and move little plastic and/or pewter toy soldiers around a table a couple times a week. |

Hordes and WarMachhine!! There's 2 games I'd like to learn to play. If I get back to GenCon next year I've got to get a demo from the Privateer guys. Try Grind with your WarMachine minis. Another fantasy sports game I want to learn. Too little time and money, too many games.

Now I wanna go even more!
Warmachine appeals to me more than Hordes, just because of the style. _________________ "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."

Hullo.
I'm from the sticks in Northern Ireland. I'm a zoology graduate, currently wondering if a slowly emerging miniature sculptor can pay off a student loan. I've been in the gaming hobby (mostly Grandma Wendy, if that means what I think it means) for over ten years, IIRC, though I've only actually 'gamed' properly in the last couple of months. I got my first taste of FF last night and I'm sold. |

First of all, welcome to the forum! This is a great and friendly forum, despite my omni-presence.
Have you tried Elfball or just Bl00d B0wl?
I would recommend Elfball, it's a better game IMO but each one has their own merits. _________________ "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."

Vermis, you might want to contact BrownRob, as I believe he's also in NI (but no idea on how local he is to you). _________________ What the hell am I doing on a mini's forum? I DON'T PAINT!!!

Young Rob is down my neck of the woods in Fermanagh - which really is in the sticks.
I've seen Vermis on the FOD - he's quite a conceptual artist too iirc. |

Just the one game of double-B. The gamers I know tend to stick to Granny Wendy round here, more out of long familiarity and convenience than fanboy loyalty, IMO (and those Sideline Games aren't so bad... ). Although I don't think it'd be hard to introduce other games, given a ruleset and appropriate minis.

Oho.
Well, I won't argue with you there, although south Tyrone isn't too far off. |

Given the almost complete lack of hobby shops or stores here, this is hardly surprising - however, N.I. is fertile ground for predominantly mail-order based independents a la Impact!, Heresy, Hasslefree etc. Grandma Wendy only has one store, in Belfast, and I'm loathe to ever enter it when there.

In terms of bucolic rural backwardness, that's pretty much a tie... |

Hi,
I'm Ant and I'm studying at St. Andrews university at the moment in Scotland. Been playing FF for around 1 and a half years. Before that I have a background in other table top skirmish games and some role-playing. I'm just beginning to get good at painting and have even tried my hand at sculpting. It's alot harder than I anticipated Those guys deserve alot more credit. I would be interested in doing more of this but I need alot more practice I fear.
I love Impact miniatures and also the attitude of the people involved. Keep up the good work _________________ Purdindas |

| I appreciate that this is really, really, late but welcome to the forums! I hope you enjoy Elfball, I think Impact is really on to something here. |

I suppose I'd better do one of these lol
My gaming history is a bit of a story. I started out with book based rpg's, then a short dip into d&d and similar systems. I wanted to try historical wargaming, but it was dominated by old guys who didn't want a kid hanging around, so granny wendy was the only option.
After years of playing granny games I've managed to get myself banned from two of her shops for "Flagrant disregard of a game system". All I did was redesign the rules to granny's orc based spin off game to be a bit more chaotic and a whole steaming heap more fun.
Eventually I moved onto FF, but again the whole setup never sat quite right, and then I found elfball. Elfball makes sense, elfball works.
I'd like to get back into rpg's and brainwash...er i mean introduce some people to elfball so i can get some games.
the Dice Gods hate me. To give an example, the first time I played Elfball I got to roll 5 dice....all flops. When you play against me you WILL win, but boy will it be fun. _________________ MidniteXpress

I'm new here, not played elfball but a fan of FF in general.
I'm a professional modelmaker and sculptor and have just begun my conquest of 28mmish miniatures.
Been playing wargames for many years, started with Space Crusade and Epic and have progressed through far too many to name, but still an avid 6mm player.
so, Hello!
