I have a rivalry grudge against them because of my Giants fandom, and my good buddy was a Cowboys fan.
I HATE Jerry Jones. That guy is a dumbass P.O.S. with ZERO class.
He's the type of lowlife that admires Vince McMahon.

Jerry Jones: "so, why do you think you would make a good Dallas player"
Player X: "well, see, I was arrested in the offseason and cut by my former club"
Jerry Jones: "when can you start?"

FIFY.
Edit: Prediction- Plaxico Burress will play for the Cowboys, possibly as early as next season. _________________ "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."

OK, this represents about 3 total hours work so far.. I reckon there is still another 5-7 hours of total work to go.. I started with the dirtiest job (the fur) which is why the mini generally looks untidy - the finished piece will look great, I promise...
I normally don't show WIPs because they often don't do much for the model, but seeing as Phil asked...

Cowboys! Everything with "rivalry" in the sentence sounds good ...
Good luck with the painting, Rams! (Of veel succes als je Nederlands nog goed is ... ) |

The only good thing you can say about Jerry Jones is that at least he isn't Al Davis. Or Daniel Snyder.
I feel so lucky to support a team owned by a family of football aristocrats, from all I have heard truely a great group of people.
Actually, that's why I can't hate the Ravens properly, despite them having the single most overrated player in Football history (the punk that wears 52...). Back at Pearlies, Valen and I were in Waterstones after dinner, and he recommended I buy and read "Next man up", a book about a year in the life of a football team. The team in the book is the Ravens, and absolutely everyone involved in a non-playing position in that organisation came across as good people. |

Ray Lewis has benefitted enormously by being surrounded by excellent players - especially some very good and large DTs eating up blockers.
The biggest reason he gets so much coverage as far as I can see though is the fact that he's always so loud.
He is obviously good - but I think, and have done so for years, that there are a lot of much better and much less hyped Linebackers out there. The difference being that they get on with the job quietly and efficiently, which Lewis has never been capable of.
He'll get in the HoF for sure, probably first ballot...but finest MLBs ever? Nah. He's not in the league of guys like Lambert, Singletary, Butkus...hell, I'd even take an Urlacher or Zach Thomas ahead of Ray Lewis...for that matter I'd take James Farrior as well. |

I'm not saying there is not some truth in what you are saying, but the numbers speak for themselves.. 10 probowls in 13 seasons is pretty unprecedented.. and he was injured in the 3 seasons he did not make it..
I guess it's kinda like any other top athlete though. I'm a big Baseball fan, so I can imagine the same big hitter playing on two separate teams. Let's say he's a real slugger and only gets one hit in every 5 at bats, but every hit is at least a double or a home-run, and he bats fourth in the lineup - a Papa Ortiz equivalent if you like.
So if he's at a good club, he will probably end the season with an average of .200 and 100-120 RBI because of all those good hitters in front of him getting on base.. if he's at a bad club, his .200 average is the same, but he may only finish on 40-60 RBI or so (almost all home runs)..
is the same guy at a different club a worse player?? does the first guy deserve the plaudits because the team also has some decent contact-hitters who bat before him??
anyway, my point is that 52 is an MLB machine - at a different club he probably would have had marginally less success.. perhaps at the Patriots he could have had more.. but fundamentally he's a great player.. a loud mouth jack-ass who beat a murder charge - yes, but that goes for half the NFL and NBA right now.. _________________ in this company my painting skills are limited at best.. |

My vote for paint has to go to the Cowboys too. As a Dallas-area resident and occasional game viewer I can say they have not done much to bolster confidence in the team. Glad the whole TO drama is gone and I think Austin is doing a great job.
Great work on the paint so far! Looking forward to seeing that blue and silver! _________________ Patrick

I painted more flesh last night (mostly while the Phillies were at the plate ) but have not yet finished it.. will try to finish the flesh tonight and also re-do the black on everything else so the edges are crisper and cleaner.. the more I paint the mini, the more I love it! _________________ in this company my painting skills are limited at best.. |
