Hi,

based on the games of Elfball that people have played in tournaments (UK and US) these are the current rankings.  Every player starts on 150, and it does not matter which race you are playing (all races are equal!).

Last updated February 2011 after Mansfield.

The spreadsheet is here.

Code:

ranking   player
166.98   sann0638
166.27   antipixi
153.39   gazza
153.29   valen
152.89   spiky
151.94   mrinprophet
150.42   andy
150.06   hangus
149.99   thadrin
148.95   charon
147.96   madjackal
146.93   charlie
146.48   mattwhile
145.68   xenolith
144.11   pauly
141.19   rab
140.88   danmelia
140.6   dpwright
139.41   duttydave
134.93   malcbutch
132.39   paintedgoblin

And the same formula applied to races:

Code:

ranking   race
161.07   siringit
160.79   blackrock
156.48   blackwidows
154.9   gnomes
153.5   samhaino
150.01   dogs
149.97   valkyries
146.98   sarcos
145.13   middlekingdom
144.41   thunderhammer
144.25   divinewind
144.2   pharaohs
134.62   nightelf
133.74   timberline
123.88   orc

Let me know as results come in.

Mike

Is there a list of races and wins and losses ignoring which coach played them.  I would be curious to see if any teams have a statistical advantages, even though all theirs "stats" are the same.

Next time I do an update I will put races on (mid-Feb) but I think the sample size is too small at the moment.

Updated for Feb 2011 - will do races over the next couple of days.

Antipixi zooms to number 2, and malc plummets to the bottom!

Updated with race data (I'm assuming madjackal played divine wind at gencon, let me know if not).

Black Rock and Siringit being strongest seems a fair reflection, but I think the Orc data is slightly skewed by being a newbie team.

I'm definitely going for Desert Dogs or Gnomes next time, as these don't have data yet.

This was partly due to my poor performance in Bedford where we played without skills.

I think Night Elves will be pretty evil as Antipixi mentioned with steady/sprinter on an imp and maybe a grapple/psycho hunter

I think I might need to do some playtesting before our next tournament...

Cheers,
Spiky

I think that with skills night elves will rock!

5 imps 2 with steady/sprinter
2 hunters both grapple/phsyco
+1 potion to bring back a hunter if removed.

That would be pretty hard to defend against.

There are also other skill combos that would be very interesting.

Spiky - The night elves also suffer from dpwright learning the game, whilst using them for the Bedford tournament.

I also think that they are one of teams that are quite weak without skills. But this is a matter of personal opinion.

Timberlines updated - there was an error in the spreadsheet.  It's only PG that has used them, I think.

Hmm - I'd trade an imp for a Striker to man the face-off circle, otherwise you're only throwing 2 dice with an imp, or risking a hunter up there.

They don't appear on the list now, Mike - or is that intentional as one showing at a tournament isn't a fair reflection?
