This is my second go at them. More like what I had in my head. Need to make some other positionals; I'm thinking Divine Wind or Gnome Stats so at least one more. Any sculptors out there interested in working on this with me and submitting it to Targeted Impact?
Or maybe steampunk cyborks?

You know the more I think about it the more I would like to see an Elfball/Bl00d B0wl style game played with mechs!
With full on lasers, missles and cannons! Maybe against an urban back drop? _________________ "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."

I had an idea today about how it would be to play a dungeon-bowl game on a board from roborally...
would be awsomely chaotic. :D |

"Mecha Bowl"Obliterate your enemies capacity to make points by doing unto them before they do it to you!
Oh hell yeah! I'd play! _________________ Thom. . .

For some reason I can't get the idea out of my head.
I'm seeing Battletech style giant robots playing Elfball on a giant field (urban setting can be the dungeon ball version).
Instead of white chalk marks there are really tall trees. Mechs need to fight their way through to the other goal to score.
The thing is, I think Classic Battletech Introductory Rules alone cover nearly all of what you would need to play something like this! Throwing the ball may need to be address...as well as long (and maybe medium) ranged weapons.
But this could be really fun! _________________ "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."

I used BME to create this real quick like.
Classic Battletech Island Mecha Ball!
Sorry about the size. I'd thumbnail it if I could.
I am thinking that if I do this seriously with Battltech I'll raise the land so that going out of bounds is a seriously hard fall. Like 5-10 levels or something. _________________ "I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."

I love BME, it's fun to play with even if it is a bit buggy. . . _________________ Thom. . .

Interesting that I've come across this as just this morning I was thinking about a Roboball game. Changing arena, teleporters, melee weapons, "cannon" ball launchers. It would be a kick ass computer game. Perhaps my next project. _________________ http://www.elfball.net |

The Mecha/Robot team concept keeps coming back to me. While the Gnomish and Dwarf ImpCrusher do fit the Mecha concept (we can toss in Wendy's Death Rollers too), we still don't have any good robots! Does anyone have links to some good steampunk type Robots or Automatons minis that would be suitable? _________________ Thom. . .

Sweet! That last pic (Had to cut & paste it to the browser to view them) would make perfect mechanical gnomes!
Thanks DL! _________________ Thom. . .
