Just played... Chaos was too much for me so we made new rules:

1 Dungers move automatically in the direction you choose.
2. Roll 2D6 for how far
3.  put all traps on board:  all traps act the same: As soon as you hit a trap roll a d6 for direction then another d6 for distance.
4. If you hit a wall lose turn.
5. If you end next to a standing dunger fight.
6. for fights each rolls a d6, in ties the aggressor always wins.
7.  If you lose you are down and lose turn.
8. Still run around the board in order.

Played much faster.

I only ask this because I'm puzzled.  On 7 or less to be in control ... I consistenly (meaning every time) demo this game for 4 players at conventions in 35 minutes or less.  How much faster did you need it to be?

At 7 or less you'll be in control 2 out of 3 rolls.  At 8 or less you'd be in control 4 out of 5 rolls.   When you say the Chaos was too much ... you've change the rules to effectively remove all the Chaos ... an interesting change.

Also ... being down from a fight is not nearly as fun as sticking it to my opponent.

That said ... I'm glad you had fun.   As long as the game works for you that is the more important item.

Tom,

You know I have six kiddos right. Playing pure chaos 1 hour makes kiddos lose interest and me feel like I am in a cage with a CLPOMB Minotaur.  So my rules make me actually enjoy playing the game with my kiddos and have someone win in under a 1/2 hour.  Very good prebedtime that way.

By the way I was playing with my 7yo, 5yo, and 3yo so these rules work well.  Now I just need to get the board laminated.
